Noel Gallagher wouldn’t have been able to write “Don’t look back in Anger” if he had known that it would become, over the course of 30 years, a staple for football stadiums, weddings, funerals, commemorations…

Noel doesn't give himself enough credit for the lyrics but this song is genuinely one of the best stuff he's ever done. Great video btw🙏🙏

I love Noel’s ambition.. “ we came that close to being as big as the Beatles, but we lost momentum “ respect ✊

Noel is totally right about life. The point is the journey, and if you don't get that, you've missed the point. Even if you get to where you wanted to be, you'll get restless and want to be somewhere else so just enjoy the journey.
It's classic song and even though Don't Look Back in Anger is a beloved song, I think it's still underrated and overlooked to degree. There's something about it that just evokes a feeIing and that's what great art does. Always catch myself singing it randomly even if I haven't listed to the recording in awhile

The lyrics and chords give a similar feeling to watching a Dennis villeneuve movie. The editor of his movies calls his images “brain stemmy”. It invokes stimulus at the back of your brain in a way that can’t be articulated with words, but it’s from a place that’s deep and familiar. The flow and vague, yet relatable, lyrics with the notes (I’m not a music theory guy) of the song give those same feelings.

Amazing, I'm a huge Villeneuve fan, I get what you mean
Noel is becoming so much more engaging as he grows older.
A friendly reminder that Melissa Lim told him to not look back in anger when he was in SF

I think he hasn't admitted as much, because that experience was very neat and dear to him.
Oasis might not have the same legacy as the beatles but guaranteed some of their songs will live forever. I've sang wonderwall and champagne supernova to American audiences and they've dang back like it's Hey Jude

I often think the lyrics in D'You Know What I Mean: I met my maker, I made him cry And on my shoulder he asked me why His people won’t fly through the storm I said “Hey, listen up now, they don’t even know you’re born” Is Noel writing about meeting with his dad as an adult.
Good stuff!

No one will ever come close to the Beatles. It's impossible because they were the first to do it like that, they were original and most importantly, it was a DIFFERENT TIME ! And Oasis weren't famous worldwide while the Beatles were known in every corner of the earth. The closest anyone has came to Beatles was ABBA.. but that was a different genre..

they couldve got back together after the bombing to really show the people that music and events bring people together but they didnt, whether their relationship is a stunt or not they shouldve came back together after the bombing, probably the closest to a reunion

As a personal friend of Noel Gallagher who is a man I’ve never met, he ain’t woke. He hates wokeness. Pick another target.

A good song thats unfortunately become synonymous with English capitulation to Islam.
