The Stig Show “GUESS THAT PRICE”

The Stig Show “GUESS THAT PRICE”
Ladies and gentlemen, I hope you have been enjoying the series and this is episode number two, this is a disclaimer, none of the prices I mention are factual, I do not represent any vendor I do not represent any airline, this is purely for fun. If you so happened to lose your sense of humor then you will be refunded at the end of your life cycle 🔄. Have a great day and don’t take it so seriously 😘
Feel free to look up the prices yourself, Google is a beautiful thing, there’s plenty of vendors out there that will give you the price as long as you subscribe to them for a monthly service. 🤪- #stigaviation #aviation #aircraftmaintenance #learningeveryday #themoreyouknow #wefixyoufly #boeing #youtubetaughtme #aircraft #aircraftmechanic ME wasting my personal money to entertain YOU … FUN 🙃
overall, this is for just entertainment value. I hope you guys enjoyed it.

    This is part of the dilemma I have when people ask me "Your so interested in aircraft, why don't you have a pilots license?". My response is usually along the lines of, it's expensive in the first instance to get a license and a lot of time studying has to be invested in it which can be very difficult to do when working a full time job. Also once you get your license, what do you do with it? Unless using it to get into the airline business or the military, your only options are to either purchase a plane, lease one, or join a flying club. Given that airliner parts are so expensive as seen here, guess what?!! GA aircraft parts and servicing also expensive for the average punter. I much prefer to pay my mortgage and keep a roof over my head and just admire aviation from the outside and enjoy the few experiences I've had with aviation without having to pay the tab!!!

    Hey Stig, you know how some plane type have couple of engines option airlines can choose to operate? Ex. for 777, you can have GE90, PW4000 or Trent 800. On 787 are GEnx or Trent 1000 or on A330, Trent 700, PW4000 or GECF6. My question is, what if the engine supplier company ever stopped making them for whatever reason, maybe engines problem, or the company died etcs. Will those plane be grounded indefinitely? Or are the planes engines interchangeable? Let's say If that 777-200 initially had a PW4000, and somehow PW is no more. Can that specific 777-200 change to Trent 800? Or are these plane very specifically built to fit the specific engines the Airline ordered? We as passengers can't see the specifics, so I thought you as a mechanics would. ANA for example, all of their initial 787 have the Trent 1000, but in recent years, they started ordering new 787 with GEnx instead. Most likely because they encountered a lot of problem with the Trent 1000. That's why I wonder why wouldn't they just change their old 787 engines to GEnx instead (If they are interchangeable) Sorry for a very long context for a simple question.

  • @StigAviation

    @StigAviation

    5 ай бұрын

    If the carrier chooses to switch the engine option, they can easily do that with a modification to the pylon. So it’s not a problem. I’ll give you one example. The IAE V2500 engine is no longer built. But the components for that engine are still produced. At one point or another that engine will become obsolete and carriers will have to change out to a different option. Most likely CFM.

  • @Odontomango

    @Odontomango

    5 ай бұрын

    @@StigAviation Wow, I didn't think it would be simple as changing the pylon. I thought maybe the electricals, fuel system would have to be rewired or something to connect to the different engines designs.
