THE STATUS QUO : "Technicolor Dreams" (7 inch phased 'reproduction' mix with full outro)
Музыка
I've been constantly disappointed by the fact that the brilliant "phased" single version of The Status Quo's 1968 pop pysch classic 'Technicolor Dreams' is impossible to get a hold of. That phasing is essential. Sooooo. I found 'ruudtes' on KZread who did a wonderful "fake" phasing version, popped the audio over an edited version I made of the original promo and have it run for the FULL outro length. Voila I'm 15 again!! Thank you 'ruudtes' and enjoy..🎶

wow, what a delight! you did a marvellous job! Great video editing! I like the slowed down video editing near the end also a magnificent idea. Wow! I so much like these guys. They really seem to like what they are doing.
Unreal, this is the first time I see a video of this old song. Thank you very much.
Very cool! Thank you for sharing .👍

Yes very cool ! I’d forgotten this song. Francis and Rick such good looking dudes!
Super recording!
Rick Parfitt;what a cutie !!!
Sounds a bit Over-dun to my ears. i have the factory reel to reel and the phase-sweep stands out brilliantly on the recording, which was a surprise to me as the effect always seemed more prominent in the Mono mix. In almost every track of "Messages" the mono is preferable as the Stereo mixes are all clouded with too much reverb making the whole sonic picture very vague in comparison. Just my .02 and I have been an ardent Status Quo listener since hearing Matchstick Men over the AM Radio.

The question is, can you over-do phasing?? I don't think you can. But you can certainly under-do it. The version from Beat Club will always be my favourite. I do have the original Red Pye Irish 7 inch. That's a rare beauty.

@@Omegaman69 I understand what you are saying, I should have said this re-phasing treatment is beyond what the original flanging was on the recording. The effect called flanging in the beginning was produced by mechanical means with the tape itself and there was no indivual control over speed, depth, etc like a pedal on rack unit possesses. Manual flanging tended to accentuate the high frequencies giving the phased tracks a thin-sound similar to a low-pass filter. Electronic effects units don't have that problem - it is a marked difference in sound and you should be able to spot it right away even without an A/B comparison
How old is the bass player? He looks like he's 14 years old.
