Gary Payton remains my all time favorite NBA player, basketball player. He's mentally strong also physically stronger than he looks. I credit Al Payton his father and being from Oakland California.

GP's hustle made him my favourite player back in the day and the Sonics my favourite team. I'm in Atlantic Canada, so the series against the Bulls had me up late late for every game back then. I miss the Sonics, so to hear that I'll get to be a Sonics fan again in the next couple of years is awesome! GPII going there would be amazing (get that man some minutes! Very few play with the heart and grit of GPII) and KD closing out his career there...damn; I will fly the 5000km to be there on opening night to see all this happen!

@DraftKings I want to see Shawn Kemp episode with same questions. Then another episode with both Gary and Shawn together, just basketball. That will make it complete. 206 for life! #BringBackTheSonics

Thank you, DK, Kiss and GP. I have been trying to find out what year my Sonics would return: 2026. 😇. It's been years without an NBA team for me. Must shout out N.McMillian, S.Threatt, X-Man, D.McKey and D.Ellis. It started from there for me. It became more special with G.P, Kemp, Detlef, etc...😁 I got into a lot of debates about G.P for not going with K.Anderson (H S. Years) 🤷🏾‍♂️. I was never a follower. I had a mind of my own. Love from Brooklyn now in Westchester 🙏🏾

Great Podcast. Only thing is @ 4:14 when he spoke of coming to play with Chris Mullin and Bill Wennington and Walter Berry. He could have never played with Mullin and Wennington as they were seniors in the class of 85'. His junior year of High School. Walter Berry left early for the draft when Payton was a senior in High School.

I thought GP misspoke when he said "JAK" but now I get it 😂

1995-96 Seattle Supersonics my all time favorite team. 64-18 Sonics vs 72-10 Bulls ,the only team to win more than one game from Bulls in 1996 playoffs. Sonics were also the only team to blow the Bulls out in an NBA Finals game 4 Chicago 86 Seattle 107 final score. Lakers,Blazers,Suns and Jazz won a game or two vs Bulls but it wasn't blowouts,Sonics actually blew the mighty Bulls out very impressive.

Yep, and bulls had it easy they were chilling at home resting after sweeping the conf finals, meanwhile seattle and the jazz were killing each other....that series hurt and had sonics limping into bulls series
