I was there. Forty five years ago, 1978, the real TV broadcast of the Star Wars Holiday Special. It was horrific... I can still hear the "whip whip stir stir" and the singing. God! The singing!

I miss the original so much. There was something funny about a cheerful song about Santa coming to town being played over people screaming in pain and dying.
