Te issue is not the plug, it is the voltage. My husband did some research into it. I bought one from Amazon because I couldn’t find one any other place. I needed one for making Christmas cards because I injured my shoulder and cranking my Cuttlebug was undoing all the good physical therapy was doing. They are all sold out. He researched by model number to make sure he was getting the right information. I checked a number of KZread channels and they all said just get an adapter. So now the new Express is going back and he has been cutting all my Christmas cards for me. 🎄

I think you can buy an adapter for that so you can use it other countries too. But I'm happy with my Big Shot. :)

Some youtube videos say to put the thinlit face down, some say face up. I have the big shot and have always placed to diecut face down. Now I got the big shot express for Christmas, does it make any difference which way the dies are placed? Instructions are face up with paper on top, I prefer the previous way because I can see the placement of the diecut.

Can someone please answer. Does the paper go first then the die ridges facing down or die first ridges facing up then the paper on top? I have seen conflicting material on this. Thank you!

Hi,I was just checking this out on line and I saw where Sizzix had an Express die cutting machine back in 2009, 2010 that was discontinued because the motor kept quitting on so many people. Is this the new and improved one? It looks great, but now I hesitate to get it. I have the regular Big Shot so if power went out it would be no big deal :-)

FYI:Stephanie, I just watched your video and wanted to let you know, in Costa Rica all our appliances from the states as well as my Cricut CAN BE plugged into the plugs here without any adapters so when you said it only works in the US because of the plug, you are wrong. The electricity and outlets in Costa Rica are the same as in the US. I enjoyed your tutorial due to I have the Cuttlebug and Big Shot and was looking for an electric machine due to Arthritis in my joints as well as Fibromyalgia so for the days I am hurting so bad, this would be ideal for me. Thank you!

I am sure this will be delightful for many...but those with arthritis in wrists or lower back...having to hold down the button for each item over and over until it has gone through could be quite taxing... fun to see but I couldn't use it...Ebosser is so easy with pushing button & letting it do the work... Thanks for the demo... :)

Very cool, but I wouldn't buy it. I like to know I can die cut and create if the electricity is dawn and no power 😄

Monica Borg Where do you live? A Third World country? How often does your power go out, really? Are you going to make all your buying decisions based on the likelihood that your power will go out? Will you choose to cook only by campfire because your stove's power might go out? Of course not. Progress = electricity. It is legitimate to not buy it because you already own the other one, but surely not because the power might go out. That kind of thinking went out of style in the early 1900s.

Lol seriously?! Because your power is out that often? If so, I'd suggest you move then get it!

Happybidr I live in the Pacific NW and our power hoes out about once a month. Usually it is for a few minutes but it can be for several hours, I find your remark to Veronica insulting. I would buy the Express because of my arthritis. I have shoulder problems and cranking the handle is just too hard. My husband is helping me cut our Christmas cards because I cannot do it. I just want yo be clear....it runs on US voltage okay? My husband and I got 2 different takes on that issue.

You can keep your old hand crank for use during power outages. I know, people who don’t live here don’t understand. Every fall I check my supplies of candles, paper plates, flashlights and batteries, etc. to use in case of power outages. When I hear there is an expected windstorm or ice storm, I power up my Nook abd cell phone, and get out the card table for jigsaw puzzle or board games. I have a set of pots and pans that I use exclusively in the fireplace (coat the outside with liquid dish soap to avoid staining and ease of cleaning). It has not been that long ago that I cooked Christmas dinner in the fireplace. We have extra blankets to keep warm as well as a good supply of firewood for the fireplace. There is a special phone number to call if you are out of power and it tells you the area effected and the time estimated until power is restored. Last outage fir us was December 29 and it lasted 2-3 hours. You can get pretty cold in that time if you do not have emergency supplies. Last deaths due to icy roads was 2 on January 7, 3 days ago.
