I've been working 3 jobs since I am 14 years old, and while I do/did travel a lot for work (before the plague), I don't often go on a full blown vacation. As a present to myself for turning 50 in October, I am fulfilling the Bucket List item of going to Scotland, and, specifically, the Isle of Iona (or Innis nan Druidneach).
If you've watched the channel, you know that I align with the philosophy of Druidry. I just learned two days ago that Iona is where the Druid college was before St. Columba arrived. The Druids there were the first converted to Christianity and, thus, created the Celtic spirituality many of us celebrate in one form or another.
I am very excited to make this pilgrimage, and celebrate my heritage and spirituality. I am excited to play my pipes on Iona and at Fingal's Cave on the Isle of Staffa (which aligns, like the pyramids, with Orion's Belt).
Our trip includes Glasgow, Helensburgh, Oban, Iona & Inverary in addition to wherever our tour guide, Adam, takes us so that I can celebrate my Armstrong and Black Douglas/Clan Young ancestors.
