my first familiarity with Bothans was Borsk Fey'lya who not only sabotaged the new republic in multiple attempts to gain power, but literally threatened Leia with a blaster to get what he wanted. He even tried to get Luke and Han thrown in prison for getting in the way of his attempted power climb, and tried to frame Ackbar. And it was rumored that HE was the one responsible for trying to kill Wedge Antilles for falling in love with a Bothan female

What if the REAL primary purpose of the creation of the Death Star was to destroy the Bothan homeworld, its impenetrable shield and all? 🤔 Maybe Palpatine was tired of/worried about the Bothan's abilities, and finally wanted them largely wiped out.

Borsk Fey'lya was a really interesting character. Despite being part of the Heroes' team, he was an as*hole who only cared about power and not the freedom of the Galaxy. Really miss complex characters like him in the Disney Canon

@@justinlast2lastharder749 Yeah, but many of those books are out of print (meaning they don't make them anymore) so the amount of copies is less than finite for some of the series. The actual paperback novels are still quite obtainable, but the comics, video games, and other media are another matter entirely.

These guys embody the saying, "knowledge is power."

I am normally Always hugely impressed with the level of detail you give when you talk about the lore. Imagine my disappointed suprise when I was expecting the story of the great hero of the rebellion Manny Both-Hanz. Instead, I got fake news.

Let's all remember the sacrifice made by Manny Bothins, you may have been small, but you had a big heart.

I would love to see you do a video detailing the non-Jedi training that Jedi padawans received. For example, in addition to Jedi training, what other education did they have? I'm sure they had to learn at least basic math, and what about the native languages and cultures from their various species? Since they were taken so young, and since the Jedi was an intergalactic group with all sorts of different species, I'm sure republic basic was spoken throughout the order, yet, Jedi travelled throughout the galaxy as peace keepers, so I was wondering how many languages they learned. A lot of species could understand but not speak Republic basic. Was it simply through protocol droids translating?

I would love a longer video about Vitiate and Valkorian. I've always really liked his story, so it would be cool to be able to watch a video about him that goes in depth

I like the bothans because they look l like dogs with mustaches.

I mean just thinking out loud, but it'd make a lot of sense about Bothans providing intel on the planetary shield on Scarif lol. I'd like to think that they had a similar set up on Bothawui as Scarif was, shield gate so they know whose coming and going... Seems like something the Spymaster Species would do!

They also made Quinlan Vos from one second of screentime from the Phantom Menace. Vos being one of the best Clone Wars era Jedi in terms of character and "cool factor". At least in Legends he is.

The thing I don't get about Bothans is that they are known for their spy network, and they are noticeably different looking than most other humanoids, wouldn't you just avoid them when discussing sensitive information? The ideal look for this race would be as boring looking as possible, something that just kind of blends into the crowd.

Bothans utilize contracted non-Bothan agents (who answer to Bothan operatives and are often blackmailed in an attempt to keep them from selling information off) in a large variety of situations. Likewise, not all Bothans (of which there are billions, making profiling about as pointless as trying to profile humans as a species for the same thing) are overt agents for the SpyNet, but many are societally pressured to provide information to Clanmates who are as they come across it.

The 'half-Bothans' came about in an early phase of the EU, when the current canid look for the species wasn't fleshed out fully and WEG's version was still being commonly used.

Fascinating video and lore they remind me of the Kilrathi from the Wing Commander franchise at least in looks. This video proves that Legends is the real sequel trilogy and that Legends is awesome but that's just my assessment. The Bothan Assault Cruiser looks like a UNSC ship to me.
