I love this dagger! My favorite is the v14 as far as design, but this is a close second and honestly looks like it has better practicality because of its edges and slashing ability which you dont get as much in the v14. Would LOVE to find one used at a good pricelike you did, i never see to much as far as daggers go on blade forum because most of them are usually hubting fixvlade knives and not as much tactical fix blads or fighting daggers. Sort of wish knives like these had its own category to make finding one a bit easier. You got a great find there pal enjoy!

She's a beaut! In the past, my only reservation about this style was the round or almost round handle and indexing of the edge. However this is an amazing piece!!! 👍🗡️👍

Why would you need to "index" a dagger like this? the edges are not very sharp as they need to be durable for its one and only purpose of piercing attacks.

  • @OGBladeReviews

@@Alex-yg5uh There's more to the story for those who train with them. Simply put, a flat handle tells you where the edge is for cuts, without looking at the blade. A side benefit of that is that thrusts between ribs work better in a horizontal plane, just like native American hunting broadheads.

How does the jimping on the hilt, right beside the guard of the blade feel when gripped firmly? Is it too aggressive or is it very comfortable? It’s hard to tell from only viewing and not feeling. I would appreciate a timely answer because I plan to buy the blade soon. Thanks.

You got good taste in knives bro. With the Gerber... I recommend going out and buying some rust stop paint for like, mailboxes and shit. Won't be permanent like a powder coat but will be Very good if you let it dry for a week or so. It stops the rust and you can paint it right onto the rust. Don't need to do anything else. Just paint the whole thing and then drag the blade over cardboard to remove the paint while it's wet to leave only the edge exposed. Trust me it works well if you let it dry for at least a week.

Regarding the FS dagger. The UK 🇬🇧 was on the bones of our arse. Anything to shave off a bit of money ! All it needed to do was fit in between a Germans ribs. Didn’t need to be pretty or cool, just effective. Its not without its faults but it is now iconic.

This is pretty sharp if a little oblique. The hollow grind helps, but the blade is not that broad, so in order to maintain thrusting rigidity it's still a little thicker behind the edge than a slicer.

It’s so funny how all the basic and simple knife designs have the prices jacked up on them so high, but the market is being flooded by obtuse and funky shaped cheaper knives. It’s almost as if good design is scamming customers, because the knife shapes can easily be made by cheaper materials, yet we are all forced to buy the name brand if we want that shape, so it’s always interesting to see the market scam of knife design in all the online website knife outlets.
