@@sitting_nut Levon was saying that in the Soviet school you diminish the opponent while in the Brooklyn school you praise yourself. Dina didn’t seem to get that, suggesting that the Soviet school is “more polite” instead. Not a big deal though, she’s great.

i love Levon's humoristic game of understatement, seeing him play the Candidates with an Aldi bag for his stuff was love at 1st sight

I think the template questions should be atleast slightly customised for every player. I think the last 2 questions for example were borderline inappropriate considering Levon recent-ishly lost his wife in an accident. Glad he seems to be over it by now but questions like this will kind of remind him of it.

@@unemiryune9322 well it's a loss for russian community not to have Levon among us. Kramnik and Kasparov are not Russian Citizens anymore. They share their best ideas to players from other countries. It's a shame Russia has no money to pay for such brilliant players. Who is going to be next chess champion? Not russian.

You can't hate Levon. Great player and even better person!

Soviet shaolin chess trashtalk came of the novel "The Little Golden Calf" by Ilf and Petrov.

Great interview.

Levon is just one of the ones that has such good style on the board. He's one of my favorite ever.

To be fair, he has a partner now. I agree that the last question was uncomfortable, since his current partner isn't a professional chess player.
