The USSR was quite famous for being great at building metro systems. The Moscow metro, for example, is regarded as one of the best in the world. Well, the truth is that Soviet planning wasn't always perfect. In today's video we're going to look at one of the more embarrassing examples of Soviet city planning - the Chelyabinsk metro. Planned during the USSR and built in Russia, the Chelyabinsk subway has taken almost 30 years to build and was still never finished. Let's understand why. Smash like, sub and comment thx xoxo

@@jrosenthal7111 But at least Berlin is a genuinely beautiful city. But when it comes to construction it is somethinb different, as you mentioned U5 which first had three stationed on less than a kilometre of track if I remember correctly, although me and my lazy ass (and my friends) still used it so we didn't have to walk. The airport was a meme in the aviation community, with monitors that had to be replased before the airport even opened, although the new one is beautiful and replaces one airport which was loved and hated at the same time (Tegel) and one airport which was just hated and I consider it one of the worst airports I have ever come across (schoenefeld), so at least schoenefeld can finally close. When it comes to museum insel and the people's palace I don't know much about it appart from that it is delayed and that the are replacing the East-German building, whick didn't look bad but had other problems like asbestos, with the palace that stood there before the war. Berlin is not efficient with construction and money, but it is a beautiful city that amazing to visit.

Chelyabinsk has to grow in size 2 fold before metro there will be even reasonable to build, that will take just about over 100 years. This commie white elephant project has to be stopped. There's bigger and wealthier city just about 200 kms north of Chelyabinsk which managed to somehow complete the first line of the similar commie metro project started in 80es, and they wish they never did it, as the system barely survives on subsidies.

My great grandma still told me how excited she was that there will be a metro station there and honestly believed the bs.
