Guy Marks was from my home town, Philly. He was very talented. The Indian routine was great. He did many dialects too. His Humphrey Bogart was the best in show business. Guy was just a great comedian. He was singing Volare in perfect Italian too. Check out his funny song on You Tube, “Loving you has made me Bananas” he sings it with a gay dialect that is hilarious. I’m surprised Guy never got his own show. He certainly was a great, funny guy and well liked.

had the honor of meeting Guy as a teenager in a luncheonette he frequented as the old south Philly Neighborhood. He and Jack Klugman would go in for breakfast a lot. Good old days of comedy before everyone got a stick up their ass. Amazing talent.

Guy Marks was a friend of my Dads, they grew up in the same Neighborhood in South Philly. Guy hung out with my Dads group of friends. The story about Guy Marks, my Dad, Guy and his buddies went up town to see Julius Caesar, Guy was such a great impersonator, he recited the entire film scene by scene, he was a scream. Me came back to Philadelphia every so often to visit his Family. My Dad always remarked at how great of a person he was.

Guy did a great Indian routine, but I think his best were his impressions of Humphrey Bogart and Gary Cooper. Everybody did a Bogart impression in the day, even Peter Brady, but Guy nailed it. He even looked like Bogie. And I can't think of anyone else that could do Gary Cooper.

A very different interpretation of Volare than Dean Martin’s... and how funny would it have been if Dean had walked on in the middle of the song, ‘objecting’ to Guys version; “hey, Hey, HEY...!!”😆😆😆
