I really appreciate Lekuti Oyeyemi's programme. But one correction I'll make is this and I damn any K1 loyalist to jump into Lagoon if they don't like my write up. When you're talking about comparing Fuji artistes, please do not compare Barrister with Wasiu. Kollington Ayinla, yes but not Wasiu. He's too junior and in lower class to Barry. Wasiu is just what Yoruba people called "Ajenifeni" He hated Barrister's long time domination of Fuji music and he wanted Barrister to disappear from the scene long before he died. He did everything humanly possible to douse Barrister's popularity until the man died. He was able to do so by causing rift between all protege of Barrister's music career. Such as Iyanda Sawaba, Waheed Akangbe, Fatai Adio, Raimi Bokos (Bokuote) Akanni Rahmon, Ejire Bonanza, Aladeowo and so many others. Any event involving Barrister, you'll see Wasiu fronting like he's the first born of the man. Please go and watch the video if the day Alhaja Sifawu Odee's burial. He was doing this to put all other Fuji artistes behind because he knew his game plan. If he wasn't a selfish and self ambitious Fuji artiste, he should have rejected the title of King of Fuji given to him at NTA Ibadan. Telling the organisers that listen, my father the creator of Fuji is still alive and so I cannot be crowned King of Fuji as a mark of respect to Barrister. But he went ahead to take this chieftancy title in order to push Barrister into the back seat in Fuji music. Again, to prove his selfish ambition, he stylishly push all younger Fuji artistes into the back seat. Pasuma, Osupa, Obesere, Malaika, Shefiu and Co would never grow more than where there are now in the Fuji music. That's why Afrobeats is fast pushing Fuji music into oblivion. During Barrister's reign, he in partnership with other Fuji artists fought Juju music into the history of music entertainment in Nigeria. Agbajo owo laafi soya. Selfishness of K1 is killing Fuji music. Let's face reality, K1 cannot compose one quarter of songs composed by Aare Shina Akanni, Saheed Osupa, Shefiu Alao etc but he has the evil perpetrating of pegging their career where they'll not pose problem for him. Lastly, on his Mayegun chieftancy title. He's just Mayegun of Oyo and not Mayegun of Yorubaland. Mayegun of Yorubaland's cap is too big for his head. What has he done for Yorubas to deserve the title, apart from politically running after Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu like a puppy 🐶 🐕 The only Oba in the Yoruba history that could make anyone Mayegun of Yoruba is the Ooni of Ife. Also Alaafin of Oyo, Awujale of Ijebu, Alake of Egba, Owa Obokun of Ijeshaland, Okubadan of Ibadan and other Obas would be in attendance. Not just Alafin out of his person anger towards Ooni of Ife would crown K1 the Mayegun of Yorubaland. Let him try it by meeting or going to the Aafin Adimula Ooni of Ife and not prostrate flat on the floor. I promise, he'll be disgraced by the Emese Oba of Ife. More to write about K1

You try with your write up but the correction I have to make is that you should go and learn history bro, Ooni of Ife only have the right to give a title of oduduwa land not Yoruba land because back in the days it's only the people of oyo and it's environs that are called Yoruba, until 1919 when the colonialist says all the people in Western region of Nigeria should bear the name Yoruba though the Ooni of Ife on the throne then go against the amalgamation but that doesn't stop it, take for instance, it's only alaafin of oyo that used to give anyone the cheiftancy of Aare ona kakanfo and basorun of yoruba land since acient days, same with any title that has to do with Yoruba land, as for Ooni of Ife he's the only oba that has the audacity to give anyone oduduwa land chieftaincy just like he gave Afe babalola Baamofin of oduduwa land not Yoruba land

Your antique Oba is just jealous of all past Ooni of Ife because they're more wealthier and influential than him. The Federal government do not respect Alafin as much as they respect Ooni of Ife. I do not join issues with deluded Oyo indigenes like you. Most Oyo indigenes are very intelligent and full of integrity. Alafin is so antique and confused he no longer wear the traditional crowns. The truth is that in the early 50s there's one sort of music called Fuji before Barrister borrow that same name for his owen Fuji. I hear interview that Barrister him self he borrowed that name from one sort of music in the early 50s called Fuji in Lagos island

I love your video because of your high respectful presentation, I was a young boy growing up in late 80s and 90s in Ibadan when Barrister is ruling the Fuji music industry and it's such a sad story on how he passed away in a young age though not so young but I still considered that he passed away in a middle of his life. I respect all the other Fuji musicians but I can say that back in the days that whenever Barrister is visiting Ibadan from Lagos that everywhere is always busy and bubbling. We all know the truth .sakiru ayinde barrister is founder creator of fuji music. Problem that makes all fuji musicians not to unite was from wasiu k1 , he is angry that barrister recommend saheed OSUPA and osupa music is extraordinary good .this man is genius I quess that's why barrister acknowledge him to be oba music. This is why wasiu decided to rubbish all the good efforts of great late musician barrister. If fuji musicians want to be unite wasiu k1 need to apologise to the whole world .cos all Fuji musicians know the truth but they kept quiet because of stupid wasiu.

My brother, you have tried ur best in trying to enlighten us on Fuji. You won't go without being critisice for all you said in this video. Am of the opinion that the argument about Fuji music origin is a good development. Don't we argue about religion everyday? It will only create more followers... Kollington also in one of his interviews said when Barrister visited him in Army barack in Abeokuta SAB advised him to come back to music. Then Kollington asked how can we take what we take a season practice (Ramadan) as a profession will be accept it, he said Barrister said no, i have changed it to FUJI you too should call your own Fuji.

Sir u have really tried for bringing a bit light to fuji. My advice to all fuji artists Is for them to remain with there style of music And let them keep away from position or title. Even old proverbs are twisted to suit current trends and a lot of young people have the money to influence current thought, and make the elders who can correct them sound irrelevant. There have been many brands of music that have sounded like fuji but were not called fuji - only those that started with barrister and kollngton would be able to give an official opinion on the creator of fuji music

K1 didnt change the face of Fuji music. Or you wanted to explain how? He only tried to blend more of juju music into his kind of Fuji music. That is not creative in any sense. Those you can say changed the face of Fuji MUSIC are Late Sikiru Ayinde Barrister and Gen Kollington Ayinla. People should ask why many Fuji musicians do not reckon with him ( K1). He is simply not a talented musician but a lucky one. Barrister calling him 'Olori Wa' is patronizing. There are better Fuji musicians I know deserving of the honour.

Mr man.... D different between Barrister & Kollington is like heaven & hell fire..... Barrister released his first album 1965, Kollington 1975, as of 1974.... Barrister was just 26 years of age ... He has achieved everything a man needs in his life, he's went to mecca, build house, travelled overseas, gotten children etc. . 1974, Kollington has never released any album until 1975, when he released " Omo Iya Onipako" . .In age Kollington said & I quote him " Odun Mefa lofi ju mi lo, but sikiru ko mo oo". In a certain radio program @ Ibadan.."AGBALETU few years after d demise of Barry.... As for Wasiu he himself knows that he's just an Ingrate, ungrateful soul indeed....

This is wrong, Felabrasion is organised by Fela's children supported by his fans they only call other musicians to play at the show every year. Sikiru Ayinde has so many children who can do this on his behalf .Why are you calling other musicians to do this,the ideal of Fuji creator is a myth even Kollington did not agree to it. Nobody call Fela creator of any music or Bob Marley many years after their death people are still remembering them .What is the problem of you guys.The way Sunny Ade music is popular the man has never call himself a creator.He was the first African to be nominated for Grammy awards twice even those who doesn't understand Yoruba dance to Sunny Ade music.
