Very good video thank you for sharing
It's great Dylan's & Bob could help out , it's great to have real friends , thank you , stay safe everyone !
Always great when you get a task completed. Can’t wait to see this at work!
It's good to have friends. 😊
Enjoyed the video Matt! Dylan an Robert are good folks. God bless
New videos!! Goodie, Goodie.
Surprised Dylan didn't talk you into a straight crome exhaust! Lol. Really enjoy when yall collab.
Them frame rail bolts are special tapered bolts like the front wheel lug bolts. r47953 bolts are longer at 2'' for this purpose. also there are two more back behind the batterys too check also!!
Love the power shifts.
Done had to call in the big guns....I've never ran a 8 speed power shift that didn't jerk like hell shifting into 7 and 8 gear
We had same problem on 4430 blade tractor a few yrs ago, a retired JD parts man gave us the fix, drill out threads with a 21/32'' drill bit, rethread for 4640 bolts, use thread lock, forever fix

@@griggsfarmsllc I don't remember, just 4640 bolts, best I remember they were tapered 3/4''
Great video very informative, I love LED lighting
Nice work guys! A trick to removing fastners
Matt, we used to have a 4840, with the eight speed powershift man that thing would shift hard ,the lower gears weren’t bad just the higher gears, I used to feather the clutch while shifting in those high gears, we had a 4020 eight speed power shift, same thing just smaller, shifted the same way!! I wish we had that back that was an awesome tractor, just The cylinder liners started leaking in those weep holes, gotta watch that I don’t know if the 4440 is the same or not, wet sleeve!! Great video Matt as always👍!!
Love that 4440 sound!
Clutch it between 7&8. It’ll help you with your bolts.
My bad! Locktightened fastners, is to heat the fastner which softens the locktite....not crazy cherry red heat....just 500deg or so with small torch....and plenty of time to heat soak all the way down fastner to where locktite is
Ya'll will love the LED lights.
The hydraulic leak that you fixed up front may have also contributed to the transmission working better if it was feeding oil and pressure to the transmission.
what about cutting a bolt relive to be able to get a socket on them to keep eye on them
The bolts that wore out the threads can be heli-coiled, that will allow using the original size bolts to replace the broken ones. The other choice is to go to the next size larger and tap the casting accordingly.

Great video and a fantastic mechanic you have here. Do you know what temperature the transmission should operate at ?
I wood also check bolts from engine to transmission never no good thing to check
👍👍👍🙏
Sharpie marks on your bolts
I'll bet. Minneapolis Moline G 1355 had the first air conditioning. And highly superior pulling power. But you go with that.
Maybe you did this already, but take the batteries out and check the frame to block bolts at the rear of the side rails .??.

Yeah we checked them too
the fork lift with no brakes
There's a lever on the left side that allows you to put the transmission in tow or neutral, you then hook up your pressure guages to it and it allows you to shift through all 8 gears without the tractor moving, you can then tell what the pressures are doing in each clutchpack, if it was slipping in 7 and 8 before that's probably still gonna be there, when the oil is cold it's thicker and the clutches won't slip as much, but I've seen a 4640 slip in 7 and 8 and ran for years the guys just new to idle it back and then increase throttle, now you may have had something in the shifting value that was sticking also, if a value wasn't opening or closing as it should it would cause that, but I'm gonna bet when you get back to using it the problem will return Good luck man hope it works out

We had 2 4020s with power shift always slipped between 7 and 8 the first one we traded with 2500 hours the second we still have has about 12000 hours still runs like a champ besides that rebuilt motor at about 9000 hours.
I have that exact trump 2020 flag in my shop
