True. I think it was a missed opportunity to not open up an additional story line with him, that it was in pre-production, but it's likely that Gandolfini caught wind of it and squelched it so as not to be overshadowed. I could actually see a new series developed around him, his performance was so riveting it's easy to see he's a graduate of the Steven Seagal school of method acting.
