Don’t getting me wrong, Feech was a liability and deserved what he got but much like Ritchie, without support from New York (which they both lacked ) and the support from the other capos (which they both didn’t have) there was no way he was going to make a move against Tony. Even if he would have tried, the other capos would have taken him out their own self out of fear of getting their pockets pinched. The real scumbag that needed to be taken out was Johnny Sack who was playing both side of the fence and causing problems for both New York and Jersey.

Watching the ‘Talking Sopranos’ Podcast with Steve Schirripa and Michael Imperioli, I learned that the great Robert Loggia was having problems remembering his lines, due to advancing age and the fact that actors had to recite the lines EXACTLY as written. If the line was: “He appeared to be upset,” and the actor said: “He looked upset.” It had to be redone. But everyone patiently worked with him and never complained that a 3 hour scene took 8 hours to get right, because of the respect the cast/crew had for Loggia.

He was your stereotypical nosy, motor-mouth Dago grandpa, not overly dirty or devious and he didn’t only talk to his “friends” when money was involved. Feech was basically the Al Bundy of the sopranos. He's a guy whose best days were well before he got sent down then came out 20 years after the government had decimated the mob. Much like how al wouldn't shut up about how he'd set a school rushing record and scored three touchdowns in a single game when he was on the senior varcity football team in high school that still stood 20 years later when he was a shoe salesman trapped in a loveless marriage with two kids who hated him, feech would obsess over how things were back in the 60's-70's when he was younger and had money because he didn't want to see things as they currently were.

Other people like Richie only come to see Junior with their own agenda in mind, but Feech's visits have more human connection, sure he needs a job right out of the can too but when he's around, he makes Junior's house a lot more lively and like a home. The same reason people enjoy attending his card game. If Feech was around more he could at least keep Junior in friendly company a bit longer. But Tony just had to let him go.

The character of Feech LaManna always reminded me of Philadelphia Mafia member Raymond "Long John" Martorano. Martorano was born in Sicily and was an old timer in the Philly Family. He was from the Angelo Bruno era. He went to prison for a long time. When he got out, the Philly Family is now run by Joey Merlino. Martorano overstepped his boundaries and tried to overtake some rackets that were not his. He ended up getting whacked.

I don't know. The legend of Feech La Manna and Robert Loggia just doesn't add up. Ralph called him a 'Mustache Pete made over on the other side.' This was a term coined by Lucky Luciano to describe the old time bosses of strict tradition, Joe 'The Boss' Masseria and Salvatore Maranzano. True Italian OGs. Ralphie's story would imply that this was a real Italian from Italy who would probably be as old as Junior is now back when Tony, Jackie and Richie were kids and dead by this point. Then we have Robert Loggia come in sounding like he was born in Brooklyn and about Junior's age. This is far from being a 'mustache Pete' and he sounds about as OG Italian from 'the other side' as the rest of them.

Maybe prior to like the 60's they went to italy for the ceremony or some nonsense. Or maybe he lived in Brooklyn till he was like 11 then in Italy till he was like 25 then back to jersey. I agree that the line turned out to be nonsense, probably didn't even know they were going to write him in to the story yet, but there are ways to stretch it I guess. Pretty sad though. He came out of the joint and had beef with the boss and either forgot or never realized how wily a boss would be. He still just saw junior's little nephew instead of stopping and thinking that maybe he shouldn't underestimate someone who got to such a position so fast.

Ralphie may have gotten what he had coming to him, but Feech and Richie def had a reason to be upset and disgruntled!!!! Locked up all those years, for not ratting on the “supposed” same friends who treated them like bugs upon their release, when they should have been taken care of and treated like heroes!!
