Fun fact: when Edie Falco, who plays Carm, was asked what was her favorite Sopranos scene that she was in, she said the scene at the end when theyre just sitting out in the lawn chairs, talking & reconnecting :)
I really love the ending of episode 6. The music and the cinematography are just perfect. Like Junior's card still having CAPO written on it because he's only supposed to be a figurehead with no actual power, followed by the immediate jump cut to Tony once BOSS is actually written out because he's the true boss in all but name.

It’s my favorite outro scene out of every sopranos ep, which is impressive considering the show continuously improved with each new season
This episode changed Television forever, objectively.
In the original script, Petrulio was still in the program and not drug dealing. HBO executives didn't like the idea of the main character in a show straight up murdering someone, so Chase dirtied Petrulio up to make killing him seem a tiny bit justified.
You should react to The Remains Of The Day, it's a wonderful film. Very glad you're doing The Sopranos.
The priest does a lot of things with Carmella. They were both in Oz while they did the first seasons of Sopranos. Both in her other show Nurse Jackie. I saw them in an independent film together in the early 90s, etc.
One thing to note... Tony lied to Melphi about who burned him with a candle. Point being... Tony hasn’t told Melphi he has a regular side woman & he’s trying to start something with Melphi & it’s all predicated on a lie. Carm doesn’t explode with violence. To gain marital pity from Melphi & keep possible dating doors open... Tony strait up lies about his marriage in therapy.

@@lynnie6633 I think people forget she was doing both HBO shows for a season or two (and even before Sopranos I think).

That Bill Paxton in True Lies is a perfect comparison! I've seen this a bunch of times and when you said that was very "that's exactly what he's like!!" Though this guy is actually a priest, but kind of a con man in how seriously he takes his vows and how uses his position of power especially with the women on the show.
This episode was the first example of David Chase's attempt to remind the viewers that these guys are truly despicable and not the funny/lovable characters....
Technically, a priest is supposed to finish whatever wine/blood of Christ was poured and not drunk by church members. To waste it would be a sin. So whether this priest has an alcohol problem or not would be a separate issue.
