Glad I found your channel. I've been tempted to switch from the Canon 5D MKIV to the Sony A7R V, and as I love macro photography, this lens could be amazing, which you've shown in this video. Sony lenses are more expensive than Canon EF, and I want to keep lenses down to a minimum. But it's a shame it doesn't give 1:1 ratio, like the Canon EF 100mm f1.2 Macro. Amazing photography Albert ! Have a great Christmas

Thank you! You can't really compare a zoomlens with a macro functions with a 'real' macro lens though. You can get the Sony 90mm macro for that. And about the Sony lenses: Yes they're expensive but there are a lot of lenses from other brands (Tamron, Sigma etc) that are of very good quality and much cheaper. Overall lots of choice with the Sony system. Wishing you good luck with your choice and merry xmas as well! :)

@@pentagramyt417 Raynox 250 shows vignetting for lenses over 67 mm, and this Sony one has 72 mm. APSC lenses cut down the light on FF bodies. By APSC he meant the super 35 mode, which extends the focal length by 1.5x but cuts down on image resolution (sensor crop). This 70-200 Macro is great due to its versality, as others have said, it's also very small and light. I already have a Sigma 105 macro 1:1, but no tele lens, so by buying this I get best of both worlds at the same time (especially with the teleconverter). The only downside - f/8 with 2x converter which is fine for macro, but less ideal for wildlife.

  • @AlbertDrosPhotography

I think it depends on how you shoot with your 90mm macro. The 90mm macro is a very good lens. But if you don't use it that much with extreme close ups, the new 70-200 f/4 could replace it. One thing is for sure: the new 70-200 f/4 II is so much better than version 1.

Very good video. Your photos turned out very pretty. It seems like you don't need the Sony 90mm macro with the 70 200 g2 lens. A question... If you use the crop factor of your DX camera... do you lose resolution, that is, do the megapixels go down? And another question... If you use your camera's DX crop factor for macro photography...can you focus at the same distance as you do with the full FX sensor, or do you have to zoom out? We look forward to your kind and honest response.

still don't understand what the high iso has to do with the movement of the leaves? isn't it the shuuter speed resolves that?

Yes. And to get that faster shutter speed and still get a proper exposure, you need to up the ISO :)

This lens is useless during night, that's why, there is no video on KZread regarding this lens during night. In order to advertise for Sony company these photographers are escaping this part and try to fool their own photographer people
