In this episode of Gibson TV’s The Songbook, Scarypoolparty plays intimate, solo acoustic versions of his songs “Falling Down,” “Out Loud,” and “The Darkness,” and tells viewers the stories behind the writing of the songs and what inspired them.
Scarypoolparty describes how his unique playing style and right-hand technique developed from experimentation and talks about how he gravitated towards open tunings. He also speaks about the importance of being truthful and honest with your emotions. He also reveals to viewers that singing was never his main focus and that busking out on the streets forced him to sing. It was while busking that his musical style was further refined and developed.
Scarypoolparty is an American singer, musician, and television personality. Born Alejandro Aranda in Pomona, California, he was the runner-up on the seventeenth season of ABC TV's American Idol. His debut album, Exit Form, was released on Hollywood Records on November 22, 2019. His eight-song follow-up, Doom Hologram, was released on September 4, 2020, and the EP Los Angeles on March 26, 2021. His latest single release, The Darkness, is available now.

This dude didn’t learn how to play music he remembered how to play. This guy is Bach or Beethoven reincarnated in all seriousness. That level of musicianship on both piano n guitar is astounding. The complex guitar play in contrast with the smooth vocals on top sheeeesh so alluring. Great recognition Gibson!

Alejandro Aranda AKA ScaryPoolParty is one of those extremely rare artists where fans appreciate the fact that no matter the song and how many times he's performed it, the listener gets a treat with each rendition. Alejandro tinkers with the tempo, the tone, the instrumentation, the vocals, etc. to the point where no single song sounds the same way twice. It's an incredible gift and we are so lucky to have him recording songs in his own unique way. He was a ground breaker on American Idol and he continues to blaze his own path. I love Gibson. I've been playing guitar for 35 years and yet I've never owned one. Only played them and admired from a distance. I've gotta get me one. The Les Paul, Flying V and Explorer are all on my list of must haves.
He can play the same song for 10 min or 20 min and every time he will paint a different picture evoking different feelings. In other words he thrives creating music and he does that anytime, anywhere. On top of that his music is never one dimensional it will take your imagination on a different journey every time. His music is not meant to just be listen to. It’s meant to be felt. 🤷♀️ Gibson Guitars thank you for showcasing the amazing guitar skills of Scarypoolparty/Alejandro Aranda. Hopefully more people will be able to enjoy the music that this soulful/hardworking artist makes. The quality of this video shows a lot of respect for his craft and the quality of Gibsons guitars. I am so glad he is now getting the exposure he deserves. He is one amazing artist, his awesome unique style of playing and songwriting together with his beautiful voice are magical! Any style and genre he puts out there are amazingly perfect!
I think what's really cool about his guitar style is that you get a full mini band from one person. When he plays in his open tuning percussive style, and sings, it's like you get Bass, main melody, back up rhythm strings, drums, piano at times, and then of course vocals. Seriously so cool. Also whoever edited this video did a GREAT JOB. I noticed that Out loud strum hit edit ;)
