Pharita went to an international school so her English will be on point. The thing that is more impressive is that she didn't know Korean when she became a trainee and now it seems that she is really fluent in both English and Korean. Rora uses a lot of vocal fry and sometime a little bit of slur. Some vocalist use that to reach certain notes because of the word after could have too hard of a consonant and it is easier to hit the proper note when you change the pronunciation or slur the word a little. I wished that they had the translations for Asa's rap. I had to go look it up but she was going really hard with the lyrics that she wrote. So in Chiquita's case keep in mind that while she is practicing for her solo they are also practicing their group song and group dance. All three stages are done in the same month plus with Chiquita she should also be doing her studies plus language classes. In the next few episodes you will hear a slight vocal change with Chiquita but that is because she was still suffering the affects of covid on those stages.

Are you fluent in the Korean language? We know that Asa excels in the Korean language because the language teacher said so.

@@ignatiuschua5268 I am not fluent in Korean and probably know as much Korean as I do Japanese just because of my friends and co-workers. Plus with my job I need to work on websites that deal with EFIGS + LATAM + APAC.

Rora employs a stylistic approach to singing known as “Cursive.” Its origins are influenced by classic American Jazz that was making a comeback during the Indie scene... with artists such as Amy Winehouse. It isn’t so much an accent as it is intended mispronunciation. Creatively playing with elongated distinct vowels, clipped consonants, vocal fry, and breathy delicate tones to achieve the desired effect.

IMO Asa won this round. Her rap is sick, switches from english to korean, that's crazy. But that doesn't take anything away from Pharita and Rora. All three were amazing. They all win.

Regarding their strong accents, the way they pronounce certain words. Its the YG style of singing. Every YG artist implements it in their routine. Its unique as a trademark to distinguish them from other artist/company. 😊

@zulco - Absolutely love Rora as well. Just some added context, Rora employs a stylistic approach to singing known as “Cursive.” Though one might view it as a YG trademark, its origins are influenced by classic American Jazz that was making a comeback during the Indie scene... with artists such as Amy Winehouse. It isn’t so much an accent as it is intended mispronunciation. Creatively playing with elongated distinct vowels, clipped consonants, vocal fry, and breathy delicate tones to achieve the desired effect.

We all have our faves. We ranked them accordingly and of course, the ranking differs with each and every listener. The most objective way is to check the youtube views of these performances as they have all been uploaded there. All in the millions of views.
