The Social Dilemma is a documentary and drama narrative about the social media and search engine industry. The film gives you an insider's look into the inner workings of popular social media and search engine platforms like Facebook, KZread, Google, etc. and raise questions and concerns about their business models, privacy concerns, their potential influence on your behaviors & beliefs, and explores it's potential negative impact on our society. Join me as I give my take, from the perspective of a psychiatrist, as we discuss some topics and quotes that I took away and felt were thought provoking. It is a very scary reality in this movie.Our reality! I am mostly concerned with the effect of social media on young vulnerable people.

It is definitely concerning how much of our personal data is being put out there without us realizing, and the precision in which these companies can target you with ads, links, etc that can influence your behavior is faster and more efficient than ever before. Something to make you stop and think about the trade off of being able to utilize these apps and software for “free”.

I think everything we use, we the people are being tracked for the most part. Scary!!

We definitely are tracked more than we realize whether through our phones, video doorbells, our fitbits/Apple watches, our internet and social usage. It’s pretty crazy at this point.

Social media sites always force violent Clickbait in my fees, regardless of disliking and reporting it as offensive. I personally don’t like it.
The only social media I have is, KZread and Fitbit. The other platforms don't interest me at all. People get to wrapped up in the internet and lose touch with reality.

🎯 I've sent decades in front of computers. And try to avoid screen time other than KZread & Roku!
The only thing I can think of off hand that's as predatory historically , is psychiatry itself.
