The SNP faces an 'existential crisis' amid Peter Murrell investigation

"After 25 years of devolution, we look like something of a laughing stock."
Holyrood has been 'weakened' by the SNP's 'death spiral' says Alex Bell, former head of policy to Alex Salmond

This interviewee makes a good point. Nothing stops Sturgeon from stating her innocence at the very least. But, it was so aggravating to hear the press, when she came out to talk to them on the doorstep, asking the dumbest questions possible, knowing what the answer would be, “I can’t comment; ongoing investigation; blah, blah.” WHY didn’t ANY of them simply ask, “Is your husband innocent?” THAT was the question that doesn’t conflict with any confidentiality, or compromise any investigation that she could not have avoided answering! At least, not without appearing guilty as sin herself?

The SNP are not the Party of all Scots. They maybe the Party elected to power through the voting system here in Scotland, but in recent times they have never has any more than 32% of the Scottish electorate vote for them. That is sufficient to take them to devolved power with the support of the Greens as long as over 30% of the electorate do not cast a vote at all. The SNP and the Greens together have a majority of those who do use their vote. That is the system, that is democracy but do not under any circumstances believe that the SNP/Green alliance speak for the Scottish nation, together they attract 34% of voters.

£600k wouldn't be anywhere near enough for the shortfall they claim the UK Govt owes them. That shortfall was due to poor management of funds, wasted on campaigns and ideas which did not service needs, paying for 100's of 1000's of leaflets but not buying school books for kids or painting rainbows on hospitals but not paying creche places for nurses kids. This is where the shortfall in Scotland came from and why Wales and N.Ireland don't have this issue, they didn't waste the money it was put directly into the services. Scotland SNP on the other hand have a long running desire to be independent so they took Westminster funding and used it to create propaganda in the places it was supposed to help the Scots live better. Blaming UK for long wait times, or high prices or poor services all the while the very literature or broadcast being read or viewed, was paid for by funds for those services sent by Westminster to help them in stopping being reportedly affected. The SNP have misused (misappropriated) funds from central govt for political ends nit to help the people of Scotland. Scots bought into this. As would anyone else. Sitting in a waiting room for hours after months of waiting with a leaflet facing upu or poster saying, "your wait is because of UKGovt refusal to support you" will make you hate Britishness and the Westminster Govt. It was all a way to "create" loyal SNP voters by making people suffer so that your propaganda media campaigns meant something could be done to reverse it. Of course nothing would be done, because the SNP tell you independence is how you fix it. This is a lie. Independence means more hardship for the people but greater power for the leadership. Less funding for the services needed but an ever increasing need for them. SNP knew this sturgeon knew this and that is the worst fraud they commited. Before the SNP were in power the Barnet formula provided money which was spent on services and people managed perfectly well at least better than they do today under the SNP. FREE prescriptions FOR ALL is not a thing anywhere else in the UK, this costs a massive amount of money, FREE EDUCATION FOR ALL again costs a fortune. These socialist things in Scotland are proof that socialism cannot function how it claims it can. The financial burden is too great on the system to raise funds to pay for it, AKA "living beyond your means". The SNP are proof positive that power breeds greed and criminal behaviour especially in the socialist realm of political personages. Nigerian Communist President in the 1990's Sani Abacha stole billions of public money. Peru’s Alberto Fujimori in the 1990's stole over $600m Panamanian President Ricardo Martinelli in 2018 stood trial for embezzlement and abuse of authority amongst other things. This list goes on an on. Socialist/communist leaderships are fraught with corruption, and criminality. It is as common as muck that almost every Communist Socialist Liberal call them what you want they ain't conservative, republican, right of centre political groups. Once you step to the left of politics you start down a path of illegality, corruption, deceit and criminality which is only protected at the top and those the top see fit to ensure face no punishments such as death squads in the stasi or impunity cases closed as in Guatemala by the UN which the now president Jimmy Morales threw the UN law and ruling out when he himself came under investigation for corruption. Like I say socialists/communist govts always become corrupt. It is a fact provable by just looking at every political state that had communist/socialist/liberal govts they ultimately turn to crime, fraud and cronyism. The SNP are no different.

Legal votes in a democratic country should be upheld. The independence vote favoured staying in the union, and the Brexit vote favoured leaving the EU. How can any government do the best for the people and democracy if you have backstabbers damaging the process at every single step. Sturgeon had no plans whatsoever other than doing precisely the opposite to the Westminster government, with the remainers having the odd stab as well. In Sturgeons case, she definitely harmed negotiations with the EU, which could have bettered not only the UK, but Scotland as well. You've all been watching the events of the last few days, and have seen the calibre of people in favour of independence. Scotland deserves a change. Enough is Enough!

I couldn't believe that could be happening in one part of our united kingdom and not be screamed about by our media including mainstream TV News channels like BBC and Sky! Unbelievably thats the environment the SNP have created! I have many friends in Scotland and I pray for them and their future, not one of them agrees with SNP policies of segregation and division. Crisis = this is difficult and urgent but it doesn’t threaten our very existence Existential crisis = this is difficult and urgent and we may never recover In theory “existential” should mean that the crisis is a threat to your very existence, but in this case it might mean that it is a threat not to the existence if the SNP itself, but to the cause of independence for a very longtime, possibly forever. The example the SNP dread most is that of the Parti Québécois in Canada - came very close to independence twice but have since just faded away, still a force in the local politics of Quebec but actual statehood independence is no longer an issue.

However, I looked it up and the term has a very specific meaning in psychology. It is a crisis in one's life when the very meaning of life is questioned by the patient. In this case the SNP are questioning their very purpose, having failed to get independence, failed in general government and have losed support and membership. A bit like saying, 'what is the point of us?'.
