I just love how it pauses occasionally to roll around in the dust; maybe it was trying to hide its scent, or maybe, like all cats, it was having a bit of fun, this time to relive the sheer stress from trying to track its prey ... who knows ... But that it showed a playful nature really does show cats are cats, no matter how big their paws are ...

I doubt if it was play. More likely a survival need.. coating itself in the dust and mud, as a camouflage, so that its prey doesn't see it coming.. besides, it could sense that someone was watching.. these cats don't like that, i'm sure!

Yes, the leopard noticed us, but did not seem to mind, since it took a nap in the open only 50 meters away. There were at least 40 people watching it that day, but everyone was quiet and respectful

Snow leopard face resembles tiger than leopard face in Africa; I say junior size tiger adopted perfectly in -hospitable mountain terrain; yap, it is mountain tiger is more accurate description for now called snow leopard. Reduced size from flat land tiger 1/3 to be able to keep up with its prey, why only under 100 pounds with short front legs but with huge thick long tails as balancing tools effortlessly up and down much like ibex but lacks endurance like all cats! Yes indeed, it is mountain tiger and North America we have mountain lion, but Africa lion will not be able to survive harsh winters like Couger or mountain lion in US...

@@furiousdoe7779 I went to Hemis National Park, where all the guides and visitors work together to find the snow leopards. This one actually I was the first to spot in camp at 6:00am. The guides in the park are very well organized, and most visitors have a very high chance (above 90%) of seeing them now. I was only there 6 days, and we saw this one on day 3.
