The Smartmi Rainforest Humidifier - a Unique Twist on Humidifying Your Home!

Ғылым және технология

The Smartmi Rainforest Humidifier is more than a different twist on a device to add humidity to your home, as it uses a unique method of breaking down droplets of water with the use of a fan, that then smashes the droplets into the side of a see-through casing to simulate rain on a window! Not only that, but you can refill it from the top by simply pouring water over the LED display!! Sounds mad? Watch to find out more...

    Thank you so much for a great and very informative review video. I think I will buy this humidifier. I have the SmartMi Jya Fjord Air Purifier and I'm really happy with that. I think the smart option is to go with this humidifier to not trigger the PM2,5 sensor as you mentioned in the video.

    Glad you enjoyed it. I don’t have the Jya purifiers but I do have three Smartmi ones and they’re all pretty reliable, so I think you’ll be fine with this humidifier.

    Thanks for such detailed review, good job, I have just bought it. Design is the best, of course performance is not so good. But for leaving room it could be enough.

    Excellent review. I found your balance between the aesthetic, relaxation, slow humidity increase, and price to really nail the nuances. I love this thing. It’s beautiful and who doesn’t love the sound of rainfall (especially when living in Los Angeles with out paltry rainfall levels)? My only hesitancy is that I already have the Vocolink humidifier so the cost is even greater for me unless I can find another area for the Vocolink Here’s a strange request. For those of us who watch KZread with the auto transcripts on, the list of tech specs has the bottom section covered by the transcription, even when pausing. I love this feature, but when the list goes to the bottom, reading the final line or two is difficult.

    I'll add a little. This humidifier also cleans the air from dust, which a conventional sprayer cannot do. This actually works very well. There is less dust at home. Only the humidifier of course needs to be washed, which is sometimes very lazy to do)

    You mentioned in the video that you were able to get the humidity up to 60%. I was wondering how big your room is, and what was the initial humidity before turning the humidifier on? I was able to get myself one but for some reason my humidity will get stuck at around 33% (starting at around 20%) and my room is around 150-200 sq ft. Not sure if I'm doing anything wrong. Thanks!

    The room I tested it in was a medium sized bedroom (not sure of the square footage), but where I am rarely goes below 40% humidity, so for the test I had to dehumidify the room as much as possible first, which started at 40%. Tbh, I’d suggest that a device of this type is more suited for smaller rooms, rather than large living spaces.

    Is the transparent part plastic or glass? Does the black sensor part have any scratch protection?

  • @homekitnews

    @homekitnews

    8 ай бұрын

    The transparent part is plastic. As for the display, it’s not scratch proof, but there’s very little need to touch it if you use the right automations.

    @@homekitnews That was fast. Thank you. My concern is the transparent plastic part will get dull and yellow with time. Wish it was made of glass.

    @user-um4ey7hi3e I think it would be better with glass, but I suspect that would also push up the price on a product that’s already quite expensive.

    How long would it take to increase the humidity in a 550 sq/ft room?

  • @homekitnews

    @homekitnews

    6 ай бұрын

    I’m not sure it would be adequate for a room of that size, to be honest. It really does depend on how much humidity you want in the room, and it could certainly bring levels up, but if you wanted, maybe 50% humidity, you will probably struggle.

  • @mattisx

    the method of humidification used in this devices isn’t as powerful as other methods,but it does depend on the size of the room it’s used in as well.

    It really needs thread at this price it really can’t be justified unless you absolutely need it especially since airversa is supposed to release one

  • @homekitnews

    @homekitnews

    Жыл бұрын

    I agree, Thread would be preferable for sure. Airversa’s model will still be an ultrasonic humidifier though, so similar to the Vocolinc featured in the video. It will have Thread though. I’ve seen a few videos of it in action.

    Which humidifier is your own first choice? This one is now for 150€ here btw

  • @homekitnews

    @homekitnews

    I think €150 for that is pretty good, although I’d suggest it’s better for small and medium rooms rather than large open living spaces. The airversa Humelle kicks out more mist, and is cheaper, as well as using Thread, but the mist can trigger PM2.5 sensors if you have them in the home.

    @jeffrey9957 the Smartmi Rainforest Humidifer is more suitable in this case, and the rain effect is quite pleasant tbh. I like the design a lot too.
