I love the Otis Autotronic Elevators in the beginning, I bet Dieselducy will love that. At the end, But love the Schindler Miconic 10 Elevators.

I like the standard push buttons more, idk why..

Also the 3rd floor when you type floor 45 it takes 8 minutes of waiting!

These Schindler Destination Dispatch is called Schindler Miconic 10.

Chris Nicholas The Schindler Miconic 10 was discontinued, then later on they made the Schindler PORT destiination dispatch system. But I believe you have a point, these are Schindler Miconic 10 elevators from Schindler that are in this building.

This incredible product was invented more than 10 years ago, and its still not widely used in my country.

In fact it was invented in 1993

Had a similar system back in my university. But it had the worst algorithm ever, couldn't serve properly during peak hours because so many students on the ground floor had to wait for a single car, while the rest of the cars hardly move. Eventually they were replaced with regular ones.

0:15 One Oxford Centre Downtown Pittsburgh before it got the “same treatment”.

Being afraid of elevators without buttons inside is ridiculous. We would say the same thing about the reason why elevator operators were around for so long, because people didn't like the elevator going on it's own.

Now these are like the most famous elevators on KZread! Sadly, they have since been modded by Schindler PORT, but they are still very cool!

Looking forward to the arrival of Sirius Cybernetics Corporation elevators with the ‘defocused temporal perception’ facility.

There is also an elevator like a Schindler Miconic 10 called the Otis Compass.

Heard those were originally Westinghouse. Then got upgraded to the newer miconic 10.

The office building that I use has got destination dispatch and it’s a kone version of it

I kind of want to experiment with code that makes a destination dispatch algorithm.

About 4 years ago, a friend and I visited NYC.....I wanted to see them and got some nice film footage. HOWEVER, We were both disappointed with the wait times , despite the destination control system. I'm sure it's a LOT better, but due to the traffic volume in that place, more cars are needed.....but of course that is not feasible

Engineering is always a compromise. When the entire system is optimized, it does not mean individual experience is improved. For example, one particular customer's request may need to be put aside so that 10 other customers got served right away. For the overall better throughput, you'll get 10 happy customer and 1 very unhappy one. You found the wait being long, but the engineer may tell you it could be worse if the smart system is turned off. :-)

In modern times, the Miconic 10 (the destination dispatch system being used at the hotel) is quite slow & inaccurate. Random allocation failures, inaccurate floor numbering, etc. These have since been modernized by PORT (Schindler's Miconic 10 successor.) I'd say that system will serve these significantly better now.

what if we pressed the top floor on the DD but later realised that we want to just stop at second floor... how floor will be selected then???

Saurabh Talreja Just press again. And besides, you have made the elevator that has been chosen in the first more clear. Because there is more room. Eventhough, in the system it still counts you.

California destination dispatch of course is confusing cause now you got all destination dispatch from all over the world in California and I think all non American-American destination dispatch in California and everywhere you find smart elevators although first non American company Mitsubishi is having first time in an American city and state of California USA and in fact sf is first to have weird elevators

Why did u cut it short

these elevators are still slow and ih8esclators got stuck in them going to the 48th floor view resturant

Tell the videography hating guards at the MM to stop attacking people filming the elevators. Asking questions is fine, but saying not to film is total BS.
