It's nice to see a video that features all of the small boat operations in Vietnam, not just the Swifts and PBRs. Operation Stable Door so often gets overlooked because there was very little actual combat. I served with Stable Door in Nha Trang and Cam Ranh Bay and never once fired a weapon in anger.

I served on Swift Boats out of Da Nang and Chu Lai circa August 1968 to August 1969 on PCF-16 and PCF-69. There's a lot of story to tell here but the quick and dirty is I spent the first half of my tour patrolling the near coast line in I Corps. The second half of my tour was spent in the river complex south of Da Nang who's main channel was called the Cua Dai River. In the Cua Dai River, the crew and I experienced many gun fights. I can’t imagine how terrifying that tour was. I’m a Combat Veteran , LPO , BAS , TF Ripper , Desert Shield / Storm. The thought of being in a fire fight with fiberglass for your cover must have been crazy bad stuff.
