Фильм және анимация

The slaver envoys are shocked by Daenerys and Drogon Game of ThroneIn this clip Daenerys and her council meet with the three slaver envoys, who assume they are negotiating Daenerys' surrender. The trio inform the Queen the Unsullied and Missandei will be sold to the highest bidders, and the Dragons slaughtered. Daenerys clarifies her position by saying “My reign has just begun”, climbing onto Drogon and leading her three dragons to destroy the slavers' warships, while Daario and her Dothraki horde cut down the Sons of the Harpy surrounding the city.

I hate this comparison. There is so much more that you can do with a dragon than there is that you can do with a nuke. You can destroy a city with a nuke. Once. Then you do not have the nuke anymore. But you can mow down a city and then still have the dragon afterwards (if you are smart and do not give your dragon to unworthy bastards, and yourself do not forget about certain fleets).

One thing I just noticed on rewatch, the reason the masters are so confident is because the last time Drogon was seen he was no bigger than a large horse. Not to mention the Sons of the Harpy were able to drive him off with nothing but spears. So I can only imagine how shocked the masters are when they see Drogon again and he is magnitudes times bigger, and well beyond their ability to deal with.

Actually there is another person who has took the lead with 3 dragons and one of those dragons was even bound to another rider...Daemon Targaryan! (In the books anyways). In Fire and blood its said that he flew on dragonback with caraxes and lead 2 other dragons in the oppiste direction than his wife at the time who was laena Valyrian. Laena was the rider of Vhagar who was the oldest and biggest dragon at this time (which we saw can be hard to command). They didn't do that in the show but maybe they'll incorporate it at some point bc we saw him singing to the dragon vermithor and he was researching old Valyria in one of the episodes, maybe he picked up some techneques.

I've got no idea how you could cling to hard dragonscales bouncing with huge amplitudes and speeds with iron thighs. It should not work. Strong arms to hold on tight on a spike is probably a more realistic way to somehow stay attached to such a beast. Should, however, the movement of the dragon's back be only slightly more bouncy than that of a horse, then you definitely do not need iron thighs to stay on, only balance and impeccable structural stability of your riding posture.

Especially when he got so big! One of the main reasons for the saddles is for when the dragons get big. Trying to ride on them bareback is impossible. It’s literally just a wide flat expanse and you’d be doing the splits and other contortions if you tried to hold on. So they basically secure a seat on top of the dragon with ropes and reigns (side note, how did Dany control/communicate to Drogon without them?) but yeah. I assume that the reason they saddle them early is to get them used to it from an early age for when they’re older and it’s definitely needed. That plus it must just be much more comfortable to sit on a padded seat than a super solid dragon back.

Imagine building up such a brilliant character, giving her such a great character development (she fought her way from being a slave to a powerful Queen who freed slaves), only to fucking kill her for no real reason, thus making the worst ever ending in a tv series. I mean her show counterpart getting killed made sense at that point because she had gone crazy with power, the issue is that she went from liberator to crazy in like two episodes. Her arc took a hard turn that was way too forced. The books are quite different from the show too my knowledge, some of the characters are also quite different (I heard book Tyrion is far less likeable). I have no clue how Danys arc works in the books but I have heard that it is different (especially towards the end as the show ended but the books are still ongoing).

It was supposed to be "a forecast" of what relatively young Dragon can do and what is about to happen once the action moves to Westeros. But what happens later is a downhill slope. I never understood how it is possible to have medieval ballistas shoot 2 - 5 km up in the sky like some kind of AA heavy machine gun and still have a punching power to pierce Draconic Scales. Clearly, writers did not knew how ballistas work. To reach speed & altitude the projectiles would need to be made out of tungsten & propelled by gun powder. Wooden balista projectile & string would just break apart during firing.

But no one ever said Daenerys couldn't control the dragons (except Jorah in Season 4). What you're referring to is actually Varys and Tyrion advising Daenerys against using the dragons to take King's Landing because innocent people would die. There's a big difference between targetting a specific ship in an armada where there are only military personnel onboard and attacking a city with millions of civilians tightly crammed into it.

  • @distantraveller9876

This is also ignoring the fact that many of the soldiers used by Astapor and Yunkai were slave soldiers, as in people forced to do their master's bidding, essentially just innocent men following orders. So while the show may not have directly shown us casualities it's hard to believe there was no collateral damage throughout her reign as she hopped from city to city conquering and literally pillaging across all of Slaver's Bay. It's a shame we didn't get to see what happens to Meereen after she left it in charge of a bunch of literal mercenaries.

Yeah, taking King's Landing wouldn't require the dragons to level it and burn all the civilians. Just mass your army outside range of the city, use Drogon to put a 100-m wide hole in the wall, charge your army into the city unopposed in the ensuing chaos, and use the smaller dragons to wipe out any concentrations of defensive troops that develop. The remaining defenders will flee to the citadel, but that's just a trap. Did the writers never read any military history, or LotR?

@@camilleroblin5005 No matter what happens or who you can't stand, It's too late now. 100s of times more people watched the show than read the books For most people this is how it ended and that's it. I blame the writers are much as Martin. I think he just lost interest in the old story for the new but thry actively blew him off.. I hope he learned his lesson and has tighter hold on HOTD

Maybe after the series is over and they show that they did not mess it up I will watch and enjoy it. I hope that the way it goes. But after the way GOT ended I will not get invested in one of their shows again until I know the payoff is worth it.

@@internettroll7604 imo they already did mess it up in the very first season. In Fire and Blood, it was depicted that the Dance of the Dragons was a culmination of greed, vengefulness and viciousness. In HOTD it is depicted as a culmination of oopsies, misunderstandings and misinterpretations. The Targaryens have seemingly no agency in their actions, it's ridiculous. Alicent misunderstood Viserys on his deathbed, Aemond just wanted to scare Lucerys but it was a prickly Vhagar who killed him and Arrax, so it wasn't really Aemond's fault, it was just a prank gone bad...and I could go on. It feels like a joke to me and takes away from the cruelty between the Blacks and the Greens even before the Dance truly began. HOTD depicts the bloodiest period of the Targaryen reign and the beginning of the end of the dynasty as a bunch of accidents.

@@Truthaehnchen Aegon would have been crowned even if Alicent didn't misunderstand Viserys. The small council had already planned to overthrow Rhaenyra for a long time. The dance was gonna happen either way

Dany was built up so much to be a great ruler constantly balancing power and kindness only for the writers to reduce her to "btches be crazy, am I right fellas?"

Dany showed the best way to win a war; attack with your Air Force and your Navy (her dragons) then attack with your Marines (her Dothraki) and then use your Army (her Unsullied Army) for support and then used her Councillors for diplomacy.

After watching and reading the entire series of game of thrones and house of the dragon it was truly surprising viserian and rhaegal got as big as they did. All a dragon needs to grow enormously large is food and space, we can tell that being in the wild has given Drogon an impressive size already but to see the other two not far behind him gives it a sense they also have a magic involved. Not only that but claiming a dragon in house of the dragon meant you could only have one. Danny was able to hold all three. Imagine if the dragons in the dragon pit had not been reduced to smaller spaces, they would be about the size of vhaegar a dragon who wasn’t confined, seeing the three dragons in game of thrones just shows how unique her relationship is to her dragons as the last Targaryen.

Dany could only ride Drogon, she didn't have a claim to the other 2, they followed and obeyed her because she's basicaly their mother since they all hatched to her, and of coyrse there's magic involved, dragons are magic but doesn't realte to their size you said it yourself the space they were in interfered theu only grew so fast for the shows sake

Eons of Valyrian haughtiness and aristocracy, paired with an understanding of a free and thriving world released from the evil rule of slavers and tyrants. I've never seen such an injustice done to such a beautifully brave and deserving character
