    I'm endlessly amazed at what this guy can do... The musicality, technique, the style. But what really gets me is how unbelievably CLEAN it is. He could play a ZZ Top tune or something like this, and it's just as clean and even. I'm sure there's some kind of gear/compression at work, but it always sounds 100% smooth and fluid.

    Holy crap! That was simply amazing. I’ve never seen anything played by a bassist that even comes close to that. C.B. is talented beyond any possible description. He plays on a level most musicians/bassists will never achieve in their lifetime.

    Okay, Okay... I've seen A LOT of bass players in my day (I'm 60) But really, I don't think ANYBODY can fuck with Charles. I know everyone wants to credit their heroes and Godfathers of Funk and all (myself included) But Goddam, Charles is just plain impeccable. Hands down to you man!     Beautiful! So freshing! I just took a few hours off btwn my Noon and Evening Business Events by napping and playing various Metal/Classical/Jazz Guitar/Bass/Violin Pieces on KZread. So great to wake up from a slumber and recharging to these great Songs and their Performing Musicians. I was Percussionist during School growing up, so it's all sweet to me. Again, Thanks🎉

    Nah dawg he's been practicing daily for 12 years. Even he himself says it's practice. Anyone can do most things if they put their mind and time to it with enough motivation. Writing it off as just talent is a disservice to both Charles and yourself.

    Charles, I feel a deep need to tell you I got to play in a TTRPG where I got to play a bass player in college who idolized you, lol. Bass is not something I'll ever be good at, when it comes to music my instrument is my voice, but I have been so consistently awestruck by your skill and talent. You are an absolute pleasure to watch. I hope you can smile sometimes and realize just HOW good you are, even for a moment. Just don't let it get to your head, lol

    I think Charles just might be vying for world's best overall bassist. Slap 'n pop, fingering, tapping, soloing, groove, etc. I'm hard-pressed to think of another contemporary of his that absolutely slays in all of those techniques like he does.
