For me Lumiya is probably the most confusing character in Star Wars Expanded universe. She had all this lore with Luke Skywalker , and backstory. She also has one of the most complicated stories any character could potentially have.

That is why i say: Lumia fell for Vader's power, not Vader.

I revisited many of the old Star Wars comics and paid special attention when Shira Brie was introduced, remembering that she later becomes Lumiya. I liked her character, and it seemed to eventually fit the ultimate canon that Luke just can't get a break with a love interest. Her true backstory was interesting, and similar to what became Mara Jade. The initial confrontation between Luke and Lumiya was intense, with her defeating Luke first, then Luke defeating her once he understood how to counter her whip. The true revelation that Lumiya was Shira Brie at the time of publication, a character who appeared only in several post-ESB comics was pretty startling, and the writers obviously never forgot that the last time she was seen was in a bacta tank with Darth Vader looking on with future plans for her. I thought that had been the end of the Shira Brie/Lumiya story after Luke defeated her in the original comics that ended its line shortly thereafter; had no idea she had such an impact on the Legacy universe and the conversion of Jacen Solo to the dark side. Cool stuff!

I hope this is sarcasm. It is strange that a person from the English-speaking community has not heard of the presumption of innocence and jealous girlfriends who are ready to kill the friends of their lover to pacify their jealousy. The enemy of a friend in war is the enemy. And in general, lol, where do so many morons who trust that provocation of Vader? He would only tempt his son to the Dark Side, deprive his friends. Vader did not necessarily tell the truth. And you, if it was not sarcasm, I hope, will be deprived of liberty on the basis of a false accusation for many, many years.

Jacen solo story is also my favorite and I hope you do continue to talk in depth on his story and legacy. All three of them are very interesting and adds new depth to the old cookie cutter dark/light side story narrative. All three of them as jedi/sith ended up having a profound effect on the galaxy and ended up changing the future and bringing true change and balance to the force through jacen daughter allana. I wish we could've continued all their stories and eventual culmination with allana future. Though along with what you were saying with the multiple inconsistencies with different authors interpretation on these characters and eventual retconing with ppl like troy denning that in my opinion either ruined or severely hurt these characters stories by the end. I wish they would've stayed with or mixed up writers like with Matthew Stover who wrote more unique takes on the broader side of the force

I did feel Denning did use a fair bit of contrivance to set it up, including heavily altering Vergere and the philosophy she espoused. Then he added all the stuff with the vision of Allana and Krayt and Abeloth...

@@chrissonofpear1384 yeah for me at least I felt like he was explaining 2 different reason why jacen fell. First it was because vergere and/or lumiya targeted and made some grand plan back in NJO seires to make him to a Sith which by itself is solid if contrived, and then the stuff with allana, the future vision he changed, and krayt was a completely separate narrative making what vergere and lumiya did a necessity to change the future but how would either if them known about that. Did they see that future. I was left wondering which one was the narrative he was going with. Was jacen a Sith pawn for revenge which everything in LOTF was going with or was he an instrument in altering the dark future he saw and stopped krayt from sitting of the throne and saved the galaxy through allana the stuff with allana and why would she take the throne due to jacen actions. I would've been ok with either direction but having both be equally plausible given the evidence makes it somewhat confusing. Plus he never went fully in either direction and left many things open ended or unseen to valify the chain of events in either narrative. How would vergere and lumiya have known about the future krayt ruled, was that the real reason they chose not to align themselves and jacen with the One sith. And why didn't they tell jacen about them. Troy left just enough stuff to speculate the answer for either but not enough to give it to one or the other. Troy likes to leave things up to the imagination I guess. It didn't really give the narrative a clear cohesive flow to me.

He sure liked hinting at 'white eyes' in many visions, which may have mean't Abeloth, or maybe Luke controlled by Abeloth. But it still seems a bit made up as he went. I also might have preferred Jacen to be captured, and stripped of the Force...

@@BlackSteelKeyChain My explanation is that there are two versions of the Legends timeline, diverging when Jasen looks into the Pool of Knowledge. In one, he sees the Swarm Wars, which gets him back in time for those books but otherwise has no real impact on his journey; in this storyline, he doesn't change the future, meaning the events of Fate of the Jedi don't happen, and his reasons for falling are as stated in LOFT. In the other timeline, he sees what was described in FOTJ, meaning he falls in order to prevent it and does succeed in preventing it, meaning FOTJ happens and the comics about the One Sith rising to power don't.

The Forerunners vs a galactic invasion of the Borg that starts with 250,000 Borg cubes at the edge of the galaxy. And this is the Pre-Jaylah Borg before they were heavly weakened and made dumb. So the Borg are physically strong and can adapt extremely quickly.

Thor's Hammer Definitely the forerunners. Their slipspace and WMD capability was far beyond the Borg. Yes the Borg could adapt quickly, but the forerunners were basically gods and could destroy Borg cubes at the atomic level by atomization or black hole guns.

Wastydest ok well the MC85 only has 18 turbos while the resurgent has several hundred. The bellator is a star dreadnought at 7200 metres, has many more guns, and a lot more mass so the bellator would win. The Nebula class SD would destroy the pelleon class based on armament and shield strength.

i forgot which book it was, but there was a race so indebted to darth vader, their loyalty extended to his family (they have this super sense of smelling so that they knew / (or better yet) smelled out his relatives). after vader's death, they shifted their loyalty to the closest relative they could find, which was leia, and they called her lady vader

Nice! I never heard all this stuff about her background anywhere, or of all these events and organizations.👌

I hope that someday Disney makes an animated sequel to Rebels focusing on the original heroes post Battle of Yavin (Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, etc) plus some others (Wedge, Ackbar, others I don't know about) and reintroduces some of the characters and ideas from Legends. A Shira/Lumiya story arc would be perfect. Her later life stories conflict too much with canon now, but having her as a sort of apprentice to Vader like how Asajj Ventress was to Dooku would totally work and be really interesting. The Bad Batch shows that Disney is more comfortable with serious and darker storytelling in animated form, and I think bringing back a lot of popular characters from Legends would really bring more fans over to the Canon side. Mara Jade could even be reintroduced. There is nothing to say that Kylo Ren didn't kill her when he wiped out Luke's Jedi order. Luke's exile would make more sense if he was grieving his wife too...

SkyNet vs The Flood 325th Attempt Scenario: SkyNet beats the resistance, and then a Flood Banshee crash-lands on Earth, the Flood form inside does not survive, SkyNet retrieves the body and studies it, and learns the basics of it (it is infectious, has some sort of hive mind, and can take memories), SkyNet analyzes the crashed ship, and manages to decode transmissions from the late Covenant, alerting them of the Flood threat coming to Earth. SkyNet then prepares for the next 5 years. The Flood will arrive using multiple High Charity's, including its fleet, weapons, and so on. In Scenario 1, it gets 5 High Charity's, in Scenario 2, it gets 10 High Charity's, and in Scenario 3, it gets 15 High Charities. The Flood may not use the Logic Plague on SkyNet. SkyNet may not travel back in time and just constantly give pre-Flood War SkyNet better and better stuff and information. If SkyNet can survive until Scenario 3 then I personally say that it would win, although if that is not enough, then there's Scenario 4, where each scenario is in fact be a wave that SkyNet has to destroy, and each wave would come a month after the wave before it was totally destroyed. This would give the Flood 30 High Charity's in total. This month to prepare would SkyNet the chance to regroup and analyze whatever data it received from the battle, whether it be more efficient ways to kill Flood Forms or even gathering, using, and reverse engineering Covenant Technology for its own purposes.

I prefer her associate vergere and their subsequent creation Caedus but I still enjoy all three in their own right. All three were outcast and abandoned by both jedi and sith and ended up achieving a better understanding of the force and galaxy then either and ultimately left a greater mark on history for it. I wanted them to win against the arrogant and ignorant jedi. In the end they were right in changing the future and saving the galaxy.

Honestly i think both fullfilled different roles. Vergere acted more as a manipulator and corruptor, while Lumiya was more of a dragon and physical threat. Kinda mirroring the roles of Palpatine and Vader.

The Sith can be so interesting at times.

#askeck Is the basic language of Star Wars old Rakatan? My theory is when the Rakatans enslaved the 500 planets for generations the slaves learned to speak Rakatan and therefore making a common language that 500 planets speak.

Good concept but look how much " English " has drift in the pass 100 years. I heard azzholes in US American say Americans speak " English," and people from England/ Great Britain speak " British." I seen a few videos on youtube of people who live through the Fire Bombings of London from WW II. And I had to use close caption just to get through their local British accents. All the while thinking, " They are speaking proper Imperial British." If you have a stable running tv service where everyone is hearing the same language with more or less the same regional accent, a give language will be maintain without much drift. Look at the sentence structure of the type statements on the internet comment sections. People of a given age write differently. Old Rakatan could be the root language like " Latin," is from Europe.

Like with Dyson Spheres, Ring Worlds, Matter Decompressor, Gateways, jumpdrives? The latter three would trump any technology Forerunners had... Generaly superb genetic engeniering avaiable... (you know I still say that something like level 10 cellular regeneration should be able to reverse aging altogether... with some nanotech mixed into it... - screw the Flood)

@@Paerigos I don't know how Fleet Power and Numbers would calculated into sci fi terms but I believe a Endgame faction would be comparable to the Forerunners since they bulit the same thing before. Crisis events like the Unbidden, Prethoryn Scourge, Contingency, and End Of the Cycle would be interesting in realistic Sci Fi numbers but we don't know much about them other than their a threat to a Endgame faction.

hang on. I thought Lumiya died to Luke shooting her in the chest with a blaster. Where she had a bomb strapped to her chest. That was rigged to go off when look killed her. Luke got lucky and walked away before her life ended so he was not caught in the blast.
