My dad had seen it all. When LKY passed on, he told my nephew: You have to thank LKY for what you have today. Thank you for this short, sweet, to the point video on Singapore.
Singapore leaves a lot a of uncomfortable questions for those of us who believe in liberal democracy. It shows that crime and drugs can be stomped out, but the price of success is quite steep.

I see with you, they have understood human nature . The excess democracy we have in the West has taken us no way. Putting humans under certain conditions we obtain something. I share your doubts but I go for it
It's not a 'miracle' that transform little red dot to its present state of poshness, but through careful planning, various pain-taking execution stages and skillful implementation of national policy led by Mr LKY + post independent generation of Singaporeans to make such a transformation possible, moving Singapore away from a dilapidative state left behind by British Empire to a modern, progressive city state in Asia.

NO! This is not a fair representation of the facts and so much was glossed over. It's not as if you have to complete your video in under 20 minutes. A few more minutes and you could have given a truly great video. It wasn't several years late that they left Malaysia it was two years and Malaysia "kicked Singapore out".
The priced paid wasn't just for prosperity, it's much more so for survival first, and continual progress and securing mid to longer term survival second. Prosperity is just a by product of all the planning, swift execution, and no nonsense grit plus hard work which were all necessary. A true liberal democracy wouldn't have granted the government to move at such speed.

I feel like for third world countries in south America they should legalize drugs will solve the economic situation and decrease crime rate. like how Portugal did and legalized all drugs and now it's one of the safest countries in Europe.
