@@MrParkerman6 I know it's been a year, but this is pretty ridiculous. Not only is it laughable to imply that something in an animated show could be "left up to chance" but you also clearly didn't understand my entire point regarding the term "nonsense". Oldschool Simpsons, while funny, creative and well-written as probably never an animated sitcom before or after, had their fair share of absolute nonsense and were richer for it. In this very clip you have breakdancing apes, in "Cape Feare" you have Sideshow Bob repeatedly stepping on rakes to enhance the runtime of the episode (not making this up, that's the genuine reason), in "Duffless" you have Chief Wiggum explode after colliding with a tree, and the entire conception of the Sea Captain was because the writers wanted to have a character using "sea talk" for no good reason other than that they thought it was funny. None of these things make sense outside of the show's universe but the show is much funnier because of it. Something being nonsensical doesn't make it bad, as Lewis Carroll, Terry Pratchett and yes, oldschool Simpsons writers will happily attest.

Eh, knowing Fox, they would have destroyed Troy McClure and Lionel Hunts, just like they did to the rest of the characters in the Simpsons. Phil died before the Simpsons went down hill, so his characters are remember a lot more fondly, because Fox didn't get a chance to destroy them. This clip has everything.
The funny thing is that Phil Hartman used to play charlton Heston on snl
This Dr zayeus song has been stuck in my head since i first heard it back in the 90s
I must have been an idiot when I was a kid, because I never realized Jeff Goldblum voiced Troy McClure's agent.
I've had this song stuck in my for a long time as a kid, and its back again so thank you, it's the only thing I actually liked being stuck.
"Dr Zaius Dr Zaius!" Yeah, I could really get into this!

What's wrong with me?
The part where the ape break dances has to be one of the best parts of the entirety of the Simpsons golden age
The funniest parody they ever did by a mile. I just wish I'd had a chance to see the actual movie first. I ended up seeing it for the first time maybe a year later, I was 13 or 14 I think. So, it kinda made the ending a lot less of a shocker. I can't really blame THEM for that, I mean, the movie was almost thirty years old by then, FIFTY now. Though I wish all the box sets of those movies and VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray covers didn't put the statue on their covers and in their menus and shit. That's kind of a dick move. I'm not saying the movie needs a spoiler alert, but they shouldn't so blatantly go the other way, either.

Is anyone else disappointed that we don’t get to see the entire initial number.
This is one of my favourite Simpsons songs along with the Kwik E Mart song, We Put the Spring in Springfield and Kids vs Adults
I desperately want this to be a real show!
"Oh my God! I was wrong! It was Earth all along!"

You’ve finally made a monkey (Yes we’ve finally made a monkey) Yes you’ve finally made a monkey out of meeeeee I love you, Dr.Zaius!
Watching this when it first aired back in the 90's, we knew it was gold.
I am so heartbroken that this doesn't acutally exist.
God dammed amazing writing! I miss The Simpsons. I wish it was still on.....
This was Troy's finest work.

In-universe and out. Phil Hartmann, rip.
This was the live-action Troy McClure movie we should have gotten but didn’t deserve.
I lived in NYC for many years and never went to see musicals/Broadway shows. If they had actually been good and fun like this, I'd have gone all the time.
They should have just got Billy West to voice Troy McClure after Phil Hartman's death. He sounds just like Phil Hartman! I thought Phil Hartman voiced Zaps in Futurama until I found out that it was actually Billy West.

No he doesn't sound just like him. Easy to tell difference. He is just impersonating him as Zap.

By accounts, she had a serious drug problem and was high at the time of the murder. The exact details are sketchier, but she was badly messed up.

Andy Dick gave her a bunch of drugs that sent her spiralling into a relapse. John Lovitz grabbed him and smashed his face into the bar at a club after he joked about it
People have been waiting literal decades to see this musical. Come on!!
It’s the part I was born to play, baby!!
