Carrot cake is so underrated and, in my opinion, often would be better used as compost and not an elegant dessert. It took me 9 years to create my own recipe, and yours is very close to it I use applesauce instead of oil and candied carrot strips rather than confit. I'm definitely going to try your recipe though! Also thank you for the educational belly laughs!

i made this and it was the best carrot cake i'd ever had. the one critique i have of the recipe is that to my taste there is too much baking powder and soda, maybe twice what i'd want. at the risk of the cake being slightly denser i'm going to cut back on it next time and maybe fold in a little beaten egg white to try to make it up. that aside, the recipe from cake to syrup to icing to fruit compote is brilliant, and the cake is worth the trouble

Carrot cake is my favorite, but this one is just TOO labor intense. But to be honest it does look like the best Carrot Cake recipe I've ever seen. I may have to just buck up and do the work. I'm sure it's worth it!

The amount in source cream or fruit puree. You could also use any veggie puree. Carrot being the obvious choice.
How much flower? How much oil? How much sugar? Can I bake one piece and then cut it in two?
