Yea really impressive stuff to see this implemented on higher level, monks, rams, towers, arbs, Karambits all properly controlled, great work by Survivalist.

This was an awesome game. Can't believe that worked. Thought the tower was going to drop units over a wall, but Survivalist using it as an infantry carrier was even better. Keep 'em coming T90.

I can't believe people keep dissing the siege tower. It's really strong for defence and unit transport, as Phosphoru has already proven.

This is the kind of game that you show people if you want them to know what kind of game AOE2 is. It's a really strong argument for the flexibility of the game's state. A fast imp into treb rush backed by monks that winds up backfiring; and with creative usage of siege to soak up and transport fragile units, the game completely changes yet again. Very well played.

Survivalist is my favourite Canadian Pro. He really likes to cook up funny stuff and utilize Unique gimmicks that a lot of people overlook. I'm still surprised that more people haven't been using the 4way gate he came up with.

The siege tower strat has been used months before the ram garrison patch... if i am not mistaken survivalist even was one of the first players to make a karambit drive by with ST even.

@T90Official don’t despair… always remember it could be worse, we could be aging on 1.5x speed.

From my POV, T90 always ages at 1.75x speed when watching his youtube videos at fast forward speed

that was one of the most clutch plays I've ever seen. If that tower comes in any later its probably too late. that looked like a big GG after that second castle went down. Wow

Low key, I've been following survivalist a lot in the past few weeks. He understands the game just a little bit differently, and it has helped me tremendously (not to improve, I'm still awful, but to get a new excitement for it, which was definitely waning a bit)

Great game! I remember my dad and uncle showing Aoe2 to my siblings, cousins, and I when we were like 7 and I've loved it ever since! (I was born in 01 btw)

5:30 I was born in 2000 and was introduces to AoE 3 and AoM through the school computer lab (the younger classes were allowed to play games there under supervision after school). This was around 2007 or so. From there, I became interested, and I got a lot of the games years later in my early teenage years when I expressed interest in trying them out again.

big trees look better to me than small trees. as a viewer.

I remember watching it sloooowly install and being enamored with the installation animation. Started with Age of Kings and later moved on to Age of Conquerors. Having seen Viper's video on Age of Kings, I can't remember any of that other than pikes being the best of the spearman-line and there not being any unique techs. What a play by survivalist so good

The siege tower was awesome, and allowed that capped ram play which did some serious damage, two trebs and a castle. It was nice to see the Wagons being used for their ranged attack blocking, even if it was from the "wrong" player. Amazing game!

also mixing rams with that hero siege tower was a great chess like move.

This game was really swingy. For awhile it looked like MonoZ was flat dead. But Survivalist lost units he couldn't afford to lose and did not focus on preventing expansion. Then it looked like Survivalist was dead. Then he built a huge army and had a wild counterattack. GG from both.

@t90official if you love games among top 100 players outside of the top 20, you should really bring Titans league back. I enjoy the hell out of silver and gold. 😊 I think you do, too and it's good for the scene!

I think it’s interesting to know, but scout battles where it seems like a 50/50 aren’t actually 50/50 it’s based off whoever has the lowest number color So if 3(green) and 7(grey) fought 3(green) would win every time

I suppose that's only when they actually attack on the same frame? Often there will be a frame or several difference in the attack animation - so don't rely on this.

Monoz went on to give up and be unsportsmanlike in the next set vs. FreakinAndy. Dude just straight up quit early in 3x games back to back to back. Memb was casting it and was not happy at all.

Survivalist wouldn't desperately go for this all-in edgy strat if it wasn't Bohemians he's facing. This civ auto-win every late-game situation, and Survivalist realized that very well. No civ can compete the power and gold effectiveness of a Houfnice Halb combination. (both oddly enough fully upgraded) We need to address this civ, it's 2024, no reason for devs to design a copy-cat of Turks (another awful design, however most AOC designs are great unlike DE ones). Untill then we're going to see the same Bohemians, Burgundians and Turks in every Arena games. (Aztecs who?) AOE II has become so broken with a poorly implemented gimmicks. WP Survivalist.

Bohemians are currently 13th on Arena for 1200+ Elo. And 15th for 1900+ elo. Sure they are 2nd for less than 850 elo, but the game balance is not particularly designed for these players.

@@camilled3752 I'm glad we agree game should be balanced based on the pro scene exclusively, just like any other sport in the world. Besides that, WR statistics mean nothing considering how the play system work in AOE II. Btw according to the same source you're using: Huns are #1 (which they're clearly not, arguably bottom 3 civ), Incas are #3 another mediocre minus civ, and Vikings are top 10 which makes no sense, every clown knows they're bottom 3. Either way. Why WR data is so inaccurate when it comes to AOE? 1. Sample size is EXTREMELY low, especially in the top 1%, which makes this lovely numerical pseudo science. 2. Civ picking and Mirror match ups. They water down the relevancy and meaningfulness of the numbers drastically. *Spirit of the Law is unhappy with this comment, since that website makes big portion of his content.
