Good reaction. A few things I want to point out to you. Kid N’ Play were a rap duo in the late 80’s, and them and Martin Lawrence came up together in Queens NY. The bullies in the movie are a singing group called Full Force. In fact, the song playing during the dance battle is theirs. This movie spawned a mini movie career for Kid N’Play. This movie was the start of a trilogy. Unfortunately the quality the films definitely decreased after the first. House Party 2 had its moments, but really fell apart in the 3rd act. I share the same sentiment about Class Act which was another movie they did. The first 2 acts were good, but just had okay to terrible climaxes.

Actually Martin Lawrence grew up in Landover Maryland and boxed Golden Glove in Ft Washington. After school he got into the comedy scene and move to New York. That's when he met Kid N Play through mutual acquaintances. Play grew up in Jamaica Queens, but Kid was born and raised in the Bronx. They met performing for rival high schools at a talent show in New York City and hit it off.

You gave amazing insight and I absolutely love your reaction, because you opened my eyes to parts of the movie that I never paid attention to. I was that drunk guy in the movie because I was drunk when I went to the movies when this came out, but I wasn’t drinking *”8 Ball”* or the real name *”Old English”* because I was a *”Michelob”* drinker back then lol 😂. I was literally 17 years old when this movie came out and I was buying my own liquor and beer lol 😂 but those were different times than today. My oldest daughter is 23 years old and she’s a meteorologist, she has her sh&t together better than I was her age. Well I always been a father that my kids can talk to, heck I know people going to give me a side eye but I gave both of my daughters drinks during their 21st birthday parties because my daughters only two years apart. My sons are younger and still in high school, but they both hated alcohol and my oldest daughter is a nerdy introvert and that’s what I love about her. But anyway, good job and I’m binge watching your content ☺️

21:51 It's not that Martin's character is trying to say he can out rap Kid and Play..... He's actually trying to cut the tension between them. If you look, after Kid clearly wins, him and Play look like they're about to come to blows physically. So Martin is just trying to keep two friends from taking it too far. A lot of us felt like that was real cool on his character's part in the film. To be the one who is like the glue for their friendship.

If it hasn't been mentioned, Kid's father Pop, was played by the late great comedian Robin Harris. He's mostly known for "Bebe's Kids" routine. Unfortunately he died too soon when he was on his comedic rise.

I loved your reaction to this movie!! Honestly that haircut that Kid had was completely in style back in the early 90's. By the way Kid N Play were an actual rap group who actually made music and movies too!! I was born in 1985 so the 90's for me was awesome!! Stay safe!! Take care!! Much love!!

Kid and Play were a rap duo. And I don't know if you noticed but the Tisha Campbell's homegirl is the same actress that played Jody's mother in Baby boy.

The bullies in the movie are an R&B Full Force. They went on to write and produce for boy bands like N Sync and Backstreet Boys in the 00s.
