The Russia Konstantin is talking about is gone. It was moved on. Today Konstantin understands NOTHING about CURRENT DAY Russia or Russian Leadership.

I agree! It’s a shame he talks about Russia the way he does. He has family on both Ukraine and Russian side but speaks as if Russia decided one day to invade Ukraine. I’m sure he does it to appease his family in Ukraine. I agree with many other things he says but I feel his view on Russia today is plain wrong.

One thing not understood, I think, is that communism "institutionalized" its subjects. Everything is provided for you, your job is decided, your place of living is decided, your life is VERY finite. A whole generation or 2 who grew up under this and were suddenly freed, couldn't cope. I was in Central Europe in 92-93, and I could see it, and according to them and those I met who fled the USSR and Russia, Central Europe was 20 yrs ahead of the USSR. Poles, Czechs and Hungarians didn't consider themselves "eastern Europe" at the time, so I use Central Europe.
