That suit was KEY to this film. It really made the creature feel present in a way that's still hard to do with CG. I don't think the chemistry with Eliza would have been the same if Sally had to bounce off of a guy in a silly mo-cap suit or emote at a tennis ball suspended on a green screen.

He's beautiful, actually. I was surprised at allegations of 'bestiality'. He's a superior creature to humans, and it turns out she's one of his kind. Even if she had only been human, I get her attraction to him. He loves and accepts her, completely, unconditionally...like God.

I thought the shape of water had so much more than what you see on the surface. A mute girl, who was abandoned, her gay friend ( in the 60’s) and the creature - all misfits in society. They all come together and help each other - says about loneliness, being different. I loved it 💖💖💖💕

I WANT TO SHOW THIS MOVIE TO BOTH MY MOTHER AND FATHER BUT I CAN'T . THEY HAVE BOTH PASSED AWAY . MY MOTHER WAY TOO YOUNG AT 67 AND MY DAD VERY RECENTLY AT 91 . MY DAD USED TO SING ''YOU'LL NEVER KNOW'' TO MY MOM ALL THE TIME AND I COULD NOT STOP CRYING WHEN I HEARD IT IN THIS AMAZING FILM . I HOPE THERE IS A LIFE AFTER DEATH AND THEY BOTH CAN EXPERIENCE THIS MASTER PIECE , BUT I REALLY DON'T BELIEVE IN THAT CONCEPT ... SOMEONE PROVE ME WRONG PLEASE . Guillermo del Torro is a genius, I love how he uses minimal CGI when I comes to his popular characters.

Del Toro is an absolute genius. This movie is a tour de force. I can't recommend it enough. Every aspect of this movie has been perfectly executed down to the tiniest detail. Absolutely breathtaking.

I watched this movie for the first time on the flight to our vacation. It really was out of this world. The characters are so special. I really like it!

Truly remarkable that all of this is actually VFX - doesn't feel like it at all when you watch the movie. It's a movie that very quickly sucks you into its world. I was absolutely enthralled by it!😍😍😙

I saw this movie twice. The first time with actor Doug Jones that plays the amphibious creature in the film. It's such a beautiful production on all fronts and when you consider how much money was budgeted, GDT really knocked it out of the park!

The make up artist did a phenomenal job with the costume. I totally felt like I was seeing a real merman. The merman is hot lol his eyes always got me. I'm a sucker for colored eyes and his body is incredible . I loved this movie such great characters. The main characters didn't talk and yet they made this movie loving, exciting and interesting. Now that's impressive. Bravo to them and all the actors/actresses who were apart of this movie. 💗
