A brief introduction to the author Salim Barakat
Syrian poet and novelist, Kurdish, strong in construction, unique, Naseej alone in describing criticism of his works.
It is to his credit that he moved the Arabic novel to a richness in its imagination, and made the language in formulating its subjects flesh on the structure of narration and storytelling inseparable from its body, even as if the language was no longer a mediation to the narration, but rather the narration is inseparable from the context of the construction of the story.
It is credited to him in poetry that he is the father himself, who enabled the poem to restore its characteristics as freedom of expression in its utmost potential.
What compliance has a pattern or doctrine. Stubborn in carving the phrase without fear of risks, and every book he has, in poetry and novel, is a concise encyclopedia.
Barakat was born in the city of Qamishli, in the north of Syria in 1951. He moved to Damascus, joined the university, studying Arabic for one year, before leaving for Beirut in 1972, then to Cyprus in 1982, and then to Sweden in 1999, where he resides.
