The photo of the "Mayan" calendar you put is actually the Aztec (Mexica) calendar called "la piedra del sol". Two different civilizations :)
My 7 Wonders (Apart from Egypt temples and pyramids) 1. Angkor Wat (Cambodia) 2. Kirasha Temple(India) 3. Sasayhuaman(Peru) 4. Teotihuakan Pyramids (Mexico) 5. Pathenon(Greece) 6. Hagia Sophia(Turkey) 7. Great Wall(China) I visited most of them to see how huge and how hard to build all those places. I visited Chichen Itza in 2002. In those days of no health and safety policies, we coukd climb the pyramid. We were also allowed to climb the inner pyramid and see the jaguar throne. The door shown at 2:56 and 3:10 was the entrance to the inner staircase

I was there 4 years ago. Our tour guide was excellent and explained things simply enough for even a dummy like me to understand. The most fascinating thing that I saw was when you stand in front of the pyramid and you clap your hands, there will be an echo that sounds like a bird call. It's incredibly uncanny and points to how well the Maya understood acoustics.

The Chichen Itza with the "cenotes" is still relatively inexplored. So are the mysteries of the radio active MOHENJO DARO in Sind. There is still a "port" to service the 20m. Boats used during the time for commerce /trade to the MidEast at a place called Lothal in North Gujarat.

Why are you using the Sun Stone (Mexica) to represent "the mayan calendar"? ):
Transformers Revenge of the Fallen It is one of the parts of the Transformers films series, and part of it was filmed in the city of Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea, and it earned more than 800 million dollars.

Christ the Redeemer deserves the top position of all Wonders of the world, old and new. Through Jesus Christ, all things were made. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
I think Christ the Redeemer made this list because it was a vote and Brazil has a large population that likely voted for it out of national pride.
there's many, a lot worthy , million times than Christ the redeemer and you know it , but ok.
Thanjavur Big temple pride of tamil culture We exist in the earth more than 5000years before
God sent His Good Angels to build the Great Pyramid during Enoch's Time. The Bible is Found in 3 Forms: Great Pyramid, The Zodiac and our written Bible !!!
dman cant believe they only unearthed 15% of petra. imagine all the things we could discover we excavated all 100% of it.
Don't think people understand that the great pyramids of giza aren't wonders of the world
I thought Mayans didn’t have gold
Umm dude, they’ve never found a single body in the pyramids. Common misconception.
as a Brazilian I think Cristo deserves its place in the 7 wonders list. Despite being new, the meaning and the history behind it is beautiful. Also, most of the population believes in Jesus so that’s why I think it received many votes.
Yes, Christ the redeemer may, or may not be in the "seven wonders of the world" depending on who you ask. An initial Google search would should otherwise

They should hid away again what they found. How many today would have their grandmother on display for everyone to see? It wouldn't be allowed even. Kinda ironic. And why the ''already knew how to entertain'' They could obviously build huge cities without any modern gadgets and even take nature disasters into the account when building.. So how we see people back then as lesser then us, almost dumb sometimes...It says more about us then them really If anything... They would shake their head from seeing how we behave, and do not at all take good care of our homes

Tajmahal was built on deaths of millions of non muslims of India, how? During 1628 a artificial famine was in Deccan region ( middle region of India) because of war between Mughal empire ( india biggest and world 2nd most powerful) and Deccan sultanates where they burnt each other crops to disrupt food supplies, nearly 74 lakh/ 7.4 million people died, 20 million affected ( 14 percent of Mughal india population) but shahjhan gave 1lakh/ one hundred thousand money to fight artificial famine caused by him , but at same year gave 5 million to his wife on Persian newyear, 10,10 million to his both daughters, 9 million to various Persian, Arabic scholars, ambassadors ( means all foreigners) , and 2 years later he started build 32 million tajmahal, and more than 32 million on peacock throne ( single throne which so much jewels that it was bigger than 3 years revenue of Persia, more than economy of British at that time) . India was the biggest economy of the world from 5 thousands year to 1750s, and in 1630s also india was 24 percent of World gdp ( today USA is 19 percent of world) but Indian real people deprived from food even, because india was ruled by not indian rulers but from Turkic rulers who don't care about local public, Mughals collected 12 million gold coins every year ( today 3.5 billion/ 26 thousand crore ) and 20 percent 2.4 million was only for every year expense of royal , and 652 families of India had 72 percent of Indian wealth depsite Mughal empire being richest of World, on other hand few hindu kingdoms ( indian own rulers kingdoms) like Vijaynagar empire when visited by foreigners they got shocked by saw diamond, golds were sold on roads, every man woman were loaded with golds not only royals, 50-55 percent of total revenue spent of army and 20 percent on royalties, rest 25 percent for 24 million people.
