The Secret to True Fulfillment in Life

When you think of your life, do you think about what’s missing? Or do you think about what you have?
If you always think about what you don’t have, you will tend to hold on to everything that you do have, because you feel that you have so little and thus not much to give. Tony himself used to live in this scarcity mindset, allowing money to terrorize him. Watch this video to discover how he learned that giving in times of extreme discomfort, when you feel “lack” and not abundance, can be the most valuable.
As a young man living in a 400-square-foot apartment in Venice, California, Tony was broke. He had $26 to his name. He thought he might as well walk to the local all-you-can-eat buffet and store up for winter. He watched the boats go by, dreaming of what life could be like and felt his anger dissipating. His mindset started to shift. He started thinking about all the things he wanted, instead of what he didn’t want.
At that moment, a little boy came in with his mother. He held the door, pulled out her chair. Tony was impressed by his presence and gave him the last money in his pocket. He says, “I didn’t walk out that door, I flew.” When he got home, he got an envelope in the mail. It was money his friend owed him.
What did it mean? It means that whenever you give, it’s always going to come back. The secret to living is giving, because the rewards will be greater than you could ever imagine. The realization that there is something inside you that goes beyond all of your limits is transformational.
Giving back is so powerful because it meets one of the deepest of our Six Human Needs: contribution. It feeds our souls, helps us live in a state of gratitude and gives us meaning. It is the most important part of finding fulfillment in life. It connects us with our true purpose, our reason for being. Not sure where to start? Connect with your values, passions and ultimate purpose in life at Date With Destiny.
Date With Destiny is a six-day seminar designed to help participants live out their ultimate purpose by gaining absolute clarity on what matters most in their lives. Designed by the world’s #1 authority on personal growth - Tony Robbins - this event shows people what drives every behavior, thought, decision and emotion they experience. Participants will discover their true purpose, improve every relationship in their lives and design the life of their dreams as they fully reshape their destinies.
Date With Destiny is unlike ANY other event on the planet - it's Tony's favorite event because of the depth of transformation that occurs. During this intensive program, participants will eradicate destructive subconscious behaviors, create personal vision statements and use Tony’s proprietary 9 Elements of Impact System to get an overview of everything that influences the world they live in. Graduates of the program range from people like Grammy winner musician Melissa Etheridge to world-renowned dancer, choreographer, actor and singer Derek Hough.

Strong message! Most people are like "when I have enough money, I'll start giving to others" but I like a different approach. Think in percentages. Giving away just a few % of your income may change someone's life. And the best part is that it doesn't matter what your income is, percentages stay constant. Thanks Tony.

I never cry. Last time I cried was a year ago. But this video, his message...I understand now. After 15 years of my life of trying to understand, I finally get it. Give without expectations. Don’t give with the expectation of getting something in return. Just give what you can. Money, a listening ear, act of service, whatever it may be. I was tired, extremely tired, of living in lack. I leave for Marine Corps boot camp on May 4th 2020, and instead of wondering what the Corps can do for me, I feel invigorated to give back to my country, and my heart swells with fucking joy. Now I know. Now I understand. Thank you so much, Tony. Thank you.

Hey Leo, I stumbled on this video this morning and was just curiously scrolling through the comments. In a time like this when there is so much uncertainty in the world and our country for sure; videos like these can mean the difference between a great day, a bad day, or the worst case scenario. Like Tony said in the video and you echoed so well in your comment, it starts with just giving! Tony Gave us his story in this instance and which in turn caused him to give us the video and so on. You my friend have given a lot. A lot more than most will ever have the ability or opportunity to give by electing to serve this country! With so much division in the world; especially here in the USA I feel as if depending on if you decide your party is represented by a red elephant 🐘 or a blue donkey determines somehow the support you have or makes some decisions ok and others not. Regardless when I saw your comment I was just feeling the same emotions but for different reasons. I may not have financial independence or finances in general but what I can offer to give is my honest and genuine respect and appreciation for your service to this country and providing a safer and brighter future for my children and I! I hope your basic is or has gone well and wish you nothing but the best and the very best at that in the future! Thank you for giving so much with very little incentive or expectation for anything in return!

I have seen this video many times from Tony, and never fully grasped what he meant. Only recently I read the book called the Go-Giver by Bob Burg and John David Mann, I came back to this video and now fully understand what he means by the secret to living is giving. And since implementing this, I could not agree more with this. Truly life changing! Thank you Tony 🙏

Thanks Tony for the reminder, that 'true' riches and happiness dont always come in 'monetary' form...often true riches and happiness often comes by giving simple things to make a 'positive' difference in someone's life...there will be always be someone worse off, and to get over 'our selves' is to 'give' in 'whatever' form (money, friendship, time, skills, compassion, etc...), I truly believe in giving, and have seen it returned in a million different ways...should be taught offen, especially concerning finances!!!

+Corneliu Nicoara You forgot the 'WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE IT' part. To give in that state is truly NOT trading, unless trading with some greater power, and not human beings or the material world, is somehow bad or not at all inspirational and purely mundane to you. He almost said GOD there. If your argument is humans are not to give anything for some greater good that you cannot perceive in the now but believe to be the right thing to do, then you're stuck in a very materialistic, egotistical thinking paradigm. The idea of giving without expecting a return while knowing that there is a return because of universal laws is what liberates you from scarcity.
