I tried your egg beater mixer idea and oh man am I grateful for that. My first time out the mud was a little thin but I basically slung it on the wall and it troweled out fine. Your tip helped me 3 coats done in one day….. was for a walk in tub patch and whoever hung the rock used 1/2” new up to 3/8” old so I had a job for sure. Now the old woman can get her house back!! Thanks again!

Hey KG, How much (mud/Box) would you use in a 20 x 20 new room walls and ceiling from start to finish? Just Curious, I figure Beginners have a tendency to use more because they sand a lot.

Kind of depends and I don’t have a magic number I just guess based on experience. I would say maybe 1 1/2 to 2

The problem I have is consistency when mixing powder & water. Not sure if there’s a formula for it or just lots of practice. Would be interesting to find out which.
