@@TheNativeTwoMany American shoe stores and shoe departments in other retail stores have casual and work shoes and boots available in wide width sizes for adults and children. 👟🥾 But finding dress shoes, and boots in wide width sizes may be a bit more challenging in local retail stores. Online retailers may have more options.👠👞👢 Regardless of the width of the shoe, the style of the shoe also matters. An almond shaped or better yet, a rounded or square shaped toe box allows the toes and the rest of the foot to maintain better stability, comfort and health. Open toe shoes can be the next best option when weather conditions permit. 👡🩴 Dressy shoes with pointed toe boxes should seldom be worn or avoided altogether if possible.👠👞 Babies should be allowed to walk barefoot indoors and where ever it’s safe for them to do so outside. House shoes with no-slip rubber bottoms are a cozy option for all age groups. Soft shoes with flexible soles and wide toe boxes allow babies and children’s feet to develop stronger muscles and grow more naturally. 🦶

I refused to wear any shoes that didn’t let me cross my big toe over my second toe, and I haven’t for my whole life simply for comfort reasons. I was around same age, majority of shoes fitting my length were so narrow it would not only hurt as it is, but also in case we bought some pair (lack of choice anyway) leave me with bloody toes because of them being too close and nails scratching them 😬 same with blisters on toes, always felt like I'm literally walking ON my last one or two toes because due to lack of space they were pushed under others every step. I refused to wear almost anything later until it was wide enough. Who designs this I have no idea.

It’s absolute treacherous what the shoe companies have done to us. I’m only early 30’s and one of my bunions, seemingly overnight, has gotten so bad I had to walk on the edge of my foot to avoid it. This cause my WHOLE FOOT to swell with incredible pain. I literally couldn’t walk / take my dog out for about 2 weeks, it has only now just gotten bearable through me taking action and gambling giving it a deep massage every day along with hours a day of icing. I figured I had nothing to lose. I dug hard with my thumbs and gave it a thorough massage every day for a week. The pain was unbearable - but not as unbearable as seeing my sweet dog suffering with no exercise. The massaging has worked! (Thank GOD) and I am now doing manual stretches and rehabilitation, along with using toe spacers when I have to put on footwear. We all deserve compensation for what they have done to us.

  • @DefeatLust

You think they had some master plot to make sure everyone's feet get messed up so you have to spend money on pain killers and massages so the rich keep getting richer? That's why all the ultra rich wear the proper shoes and their feet are perfect, right? Mate, it's called trial and error (history). Why do you think we know what mushrooms are poisonous? Cuz people died trying them. Our generation is now fixing this error so others won't suffer. Open a book. There's your compensation.

Used toe spacers for ages and didn’t get huge benefit until I started wearing them during activity. I swapped to correct toes from a jelly amazon type, a hit harsh initially but the change to my foot has been really fast. My ankle position has moved far more central to my foot in about three weeks and it feels like my big toe has started making much more connection to the ground and bearing more load. Seriously recommended along with some more barefoot shoes.

My parents always freak out that I'm walking around barefoot instead of wearing socks, etc. Mostly due to them thinking it's cold. But the restrictions around the ankles cause me to have bad blood circulation and thus my feet get ice cold. I know it's not the same as squishing the foot in a small shoe, but it's topical. Always get shoes 1-3 sizes too big, tie well, and now you have wiggle room!

Regarding bunions, It's not just the shape of the shoe guys. Bunions are a combination of things. One of which is if you over pronate. Reducing the valgus fault of the ankle is part of the prevention as it locks the bones of the feet in a way that prevents 1st metatarsal bones from migrating.

My mom gave me toe spacers she wasn't using because they didn't suit her, telling me to try them and see how I feel (so I can take preventive measures to avoid deformations later on as well). Wearing them ONCE was enough to realign the big toe on my right foot, after more than a decade of cricking and annoyance. I've been regularly wearing them since them and working on the way I balance on my feet. My general balance has greatly improved as a consequence!

I've always walked around our house barefoot and sometimes even outside barefoot. My feet are now pretty wide compared to most shoes nowadays, and they definitely look like the "healthy foot" you showed. It makes finding well-fitting sandals a pain (I ordered 7 different pairs recently, and not one of them fit! I started out buying one but had to keep getting more in desperate hopes I'd find one that fit me. None of them did!), but I have very good balance because of my wider feet (and yes, sometimes I do pick things up with my toes lol).

You still need to do separating them like with the correct toes or with the rocks like in the first video. The wide toe box helps prevent it from getting worse/returning how it was after separating them, but they won't do the fixing on it's own- unless it's one of those glove-like shoes. The reason why he says "the first step" is because doing the work and still using small box shoes will just cause the problem to happen again, so to prevent it from returning/continuing you get wider toe shoes.

I get you. But give your feet a break, they don't need to look dainty! I'm super insecure, I always think I don't look very feminine, but my feet are the one thing I leave alone. They carry so much weight, take so much pressure every day. No use having pretty feet if they don't work as well as they could! Your feet are ideal and healthy. This is all that matters. They're also feminine by default, since you're female! It's so unfortunate that we don't see this shape more often, leading you to feel like they were abnormal or manly. You were really the normal one all along.

I'm 70. Shoes were all narrow or patent leather no give. After bunionectomy surge I wear aetrex orthotics with bigger shoes because of orthos. My feet feel great now.

It's such an obvious thing when you notice it. Shoes used to have wide toe spacing, but then the trendy sneakers came out in the late 80s with all the marketing con job to go with it. The first time I tried them, I could feel it pushing my big toe in towards the rest of the foot. The first week it was pushing hard and felt weird, but now I'm used to it and my big toe points in.

80s????? Sneakers???? Have you not seen shoes from the 60s? Or even from victorian times? If anything, the sneaker trend has helped because they tend to be wider than formal shoes.

Regular “earthing” (walking barefoot) on clean grass or beach sand. Also invest in Vibram toe shoes. They helped correct my pigeon toe and posture. Our feet carry us everywhere so they deserve the best treatment.

LOVE your intel on feet. Recently a friend tried to get me into orthotics and running shoes because I sent her a picture of my flat feet and bunions. My big toes are very pronated. My feet are actually OK with me, as I don't need to march 50 miles per day.

I broke my leg very badly a while back, and my bones didn't mend back properly, so now my toes are closed off together and it causes a lot of issues, both for my toes and my back. But I recently started using toe spacers, and man are they doing a great job. Not just spreading the weight on my feet more evenly, but also helping with developing the foot agility since I lost a lot of it because of the trauma

I hated shoe shopping as a kid because I could never find shoes that fit properly. Growing up I learned to look for the Wide sizes because those were the most comfortable. For how little they're stocked, it seems like they should really be the norm for a healthy foot.

When I was a little girl, I was lucky to have a mom who knew I needed wide shoes, because she also wears wides. Even knowing that, it's always been hard to find comfortables shoes. I'm assuming you're a woman from your profile pic and name, so, I want to recommend Torrid. I ordered some boots from them for a cosplay and was shocked, they're some of the comfiest shoes I've ever had. I did replace the insoles with a softer and more supportive pair, but the width of the boots is perfect.

I’m 23 and have already had one bunion removal surgery and getting the other done possibly next year. I never even wear heels, just sneakers. The shoe industry is deplorable.
