The Secret to Haz4/Haz5 for Beginners DRG

Ойындар

New players are struggling in the higher hazard levels in Deep Rock Galactic, here's the secret to get you started.
One of the big keys will be quickly identifying the types of locations that you'll be able to fight in and win versus locations that will get you destroyed. This is one of the reasons the salvage mission can be so tough, you kinda don't get to decide what the area you're fighting is like -- unless your driller and engineer really go hog wild and change up the cave terrain itself!
Honestly, I probably should have talked about how good dash is as an active perk.

This is the only beginner guide that gave an actual in depth explanation of the fundamentals. Im guessing most creators expect first person shooter experience or something.

@NotLordAsshat sorry to necro. but I find looking for games people either complain of being to basic, or outright state the game is meant to be introductory, as a great starting point. for example, xcom 1 makes a great starting point, but while chimera squad was a little criticized for being simple, it makes an amazing game as an introduction to the series, and as an introduction to turn based strategy games, and even the branch as a whole. For FPS I'd highly recommend halo infinite for its free multiplayer, or get the MC collection while it's on sale (6 triple A Genre defining FPS Games for 40 bucks or less is a hell of a deal no matter what way you cut it.) But your complaint of breaking down these basics is completely fair and understandable, some lines gotta be drawn to keep this videos simple. and removing what is essentially the first 5-15 minutes of stuff that is present in all games of a genre to get to the nitty gritty of the specific genre. but one or two introductory videos of a game or genre could definitely do more to add to beginners enjoyment of the game.

Keeping the terrain in mind when fighting is incredibly important on higher difficulties. Personally I've found that on Haz 5 a dead end or otherwise blocked hallway can be a godsend. They are perfect to fight from, you can focus your fire in a single direction, while protected from above against any spittersthat might otherwise want to rain down on you from outside your fov. Ideally you wanna be somewhere near the entrance of the hallway, far enough in to let the bugs funnel in while keeping some space behind you so you can back up when things get rough for a bit. On top of that, a fire grenade, fatboy or shield can completely block off a small enough hallway, killing most of the swarm and softening up the ones that get through, or keeping them all from getting to you entirely while you rain down bullets on them.

If you are a driller, then you are the thing the bugs are running from. But no, with driller, what I would say is his traversal tool allows you to manipulate the cave features to your benefit. Taking down features that might block line of sight, creating connections between rooms that can be used as bottleknecks, etc. Between driller and engie, a room entirely unsuited to fight in can be converted into a death blender in the time it takes from swarm announcement to arrival.

Driller engie is a BEAUTIFUL thing, especially if the driller knows what he's doing. Give me a driller on a caretaker fight, and I will make it so that even on hazard 5 you will take NO DAMAGE on the boss fight with ceiling rings

@@maximusthegoat8034 Depends on the mission. Aquarqs? Make tunnels up to the higher areas so that the team can easily maneuver to them. Mini mule? Make the fabled 'double bunker' directly underneath the fuel pod and uplink (About 10-15 meters) that way your team can choose to fight in the bunker or up top (this is important as it allows them to choose, and doesnt force a specific playstyle) egg hunt? This is literally where driller shines, use that terrain scanner and go straight digging. Maybe take a teammate with you if you can help it. Escort? Really it's kinda just keep the swarm off of molly, then use the plasma gun to destroy the pillars at the heartstone. Remember that C4 is powerful but often better served for hordes rather than big glyphids. The axe is far better at taking out a praetorian. On a sabotage mission, the most you can really do is cooperate with your engie in trying to create the ring I mentioned, but if you've got an excess of resupplies a driller might be able to make the same ring just using his drills. Beyond that? Flamer with fear effects, cryo cannon with vampire and melee to allow you to stay alive infinitely and also take down flying enemies, etc. Best advice for making life easier on haz 4/haz 5 is to remember the power of a bunker, always make shortcuts where possible, and remember to not blow up the team.

i have found that the best way to be efective as a team in any hazard is to help the workflow of the team, pay atention to what your partners are doing and how you can get things done faster rather to disrupt someone who allready has a plan and get in the way, its much better to go slow together than fast by your self. and you leave no one behind ROCK N STONE BROTHERS

A couple of things. First of all, great explanation of how cave layout should affect your playstyle. Using terrain to your advantage/minimising the effect of rough terrain is essential to your survival. Your powersmack is your friend. Use it often to soften/finish big enemies and or groups of bugs when out of ammo. Prioritise nitra, you will need it. Also health. Being at full health becomes more crucial at high difficulites. And first and foremost do not panic. Some enemies can wait, some must be disposed of immediatelly (looking at you, stingtail and toxic spreader). For example praetorians and opressors are slow and not that dangerous if you keep your distance, they can be dealt with later on. Also,, as said in the video, use everything. Every bit of dmg you can deal helps. A good build is also good to have. Something for swarms, something for pririty targets (macteras, spooders etc) and something for the big bois.

Side tip if your gunner is running the electric coil gun he can slow oppressors and praetorians to a crawl and deal good dmg at the same time so let him deal with it just make sure no web spitters get ‘em a gunner who can’t see is a dwarfs death sentence

My friends and i (a party of 3) didnt know how hard these missions scaled, so here we are, just started the game doing the first few missions, about 4 or 5 in to the hoxxes assignments, and we do a Haz 4 mule extraction mission. Man the endless swarms in tight space (map rng...) was difficult! We managed to do it the 3rd go around, but having like no perks and barely any upgrades made it much harder than it needed to be lmao

Unfortunately I don't a pro in this game (I'm prefer playing Hazard 3, and only learn how to play 4 and 5), but I have one tip: You can upgrade your flamethrower so his napalm will slow down bugs, so you can just fill the floor with it and run, while all bugs are slowly move and getting damage. And, also as I know: Driller's target is to control the crowd, so he is the only class that should fight with it, not run. Just you should know how to control crowd correctly. But I think you should do both things: trying to control crowd and run, just to prevent crowd grow.

Greenbeard here, but I wager between Driller’s satchel charges and drills he can probably _make_ tactical slopes/angles/scoops in the terrain. Heck, with just the drills and a bit of planning, you could probably dig out some trenches that are narrow enough for you to hop over but deep enough to make smaller enemies have to walk down and up the sides, effectively making them travel twice the distance. Just have to be careful that you don’t fall into your own trap lol

You can do what people suggest for driller. Clear out line of sight around the uplink/fuel pod. If it's near a wall, clear out a good chunk so the bugs don't come down on top of your head, plus more room to move.
