The Secret To Building a 'Perfect' Daily Routine...
Спорт
What does it take to build the perfect routine? The answer is actually quite simple.
In this video, I reflect on a conversation I had with George Heaton where he broke down his daily routine.

Great little video! It’s so funny I was running through this exact concept in my head this morning while training and now you’ve allowed me a place to really finalise my thoughts on the topic!
Thanks for another helpful video. Speaking for the Dads out there - would be interested to watch a video on Jonny’s ‘routine’.
Great video, I really enjoy that you bring a real life perspective into these topics. One of my favorite channels on KZread, thank you!
This is awesome and perfect timing - I’ve been craving a different routine lately!

Great to hear!
Enjoyed the content. Thanks
Love it, great video, it's fantastic to have a peek into like minded people's noggins! I have a loose routine that I tend to stick to 80% of the time and don't beat myself up too much If I don't stick to it all the time the ole 80/20 rule, consistently over the course of a month I'm doing well! It's easy to get overwhelmed by trying to nail the perfect routine to become a super bro haha. Anyway cool video Fergus, you've been a big inspiration and helped me get into running as a bigger lad ;)
First! Something I'm working on at the minute. Just doing a habits sheet from Atomic Habits. Revealing when you can see it all in black and white. Love the content, Fergus - always a good day when you drop something.

Beautiful Tudor chrono mate
love that you bring up the difference of parenting for the morning routine. I used to be the 5am club guy, now my daughter joined the morning club and I have zero traditional productivity in the mornings. Instead I get an hour of 1 on 1 time :) big adjustment to my routine but got it sorted out and back
Yes!
Dear sir, do you have any videos on VO2 max? In your sphere of interest, how does it affect your performance? You are an excellent inspiration for a lot of multi interest people like me. Keep up the good work please.

I do not! But have plenty on LTHR if you’d like to have a look 🫡
Seven hours of sleep, 5am club, 5k a day, 20 minutes of weights, the rest of the day feels easy and amazing. Do what works best for you. No screens, headphones, or watches until 7am at earliest. It’s a great life

20 mins of weights?? What weights
@MRBarton369
Жыл бұрын
@NusquamTamenVerum twenty minutes at minimum everyday. I workout at home so it's kettlebell compound movements at the very least..I throw in a body weight movements a "superset". It works great for me. I usually end up going for 25-35 minutes... but 20 is my daily plan.

Routine is good because without it you cannot tell if you are having a break from the routine. As an old man I would advise stop taking yourself too seriously and realise that 100 years after you die no one cares what you did. So buckle up and just enjoy the ride.

Agreed! Hopefully I made this clear at the end - do what works best for the INDIVIDUAL!
Cold, dark room, 8 hours of quality sleep. Start the day with catching some sun on the deck.
Great video as normal, but what would you suggest for a 6am start to 1800 finish for 4 days then 4 days off, then a night shift where I start at 1800 and finish at 0600 for 4 days, 4 days off then 1800 start and 0600 finish for 4 then repeat

Thank you! And not to be a cop out but I wouldn’t recommend anything other than playing around and seeing what works best!
I try to get to sleep by 9:30 but the kids usually dictate when I actually get to sleep haha. Some nights 5 hours sleep others 8… swings and roundabouts

100% - as I type this I’m in London for an event that has thrown me way off: plan ahead and get back to consistency as soon as time allows 🫡
In this corner of KZread, we've become so fixated on making our bodies finely tuned, well-oiled machines that run like clockwork. There is no such thing as the 'perfect' routine and I think the more we discuss the notion of creating the perfect routine, the more it instills anxiety into those who do not have a job or personal circumstances that allows them to wake up at 5am and begin their day in the gym, medidating or out for a walk. You can see it in the comments- people start to ask for advice on what to do with their routine because they start to question their own ability to formulate their morning habits themselves. In short, that's somewhat worrying. A video like this would benefit from more diversity in the types of people shown and their routines (i.e. not two fitness-enthusiast white males) to demonstrate the variety of ways people begin their day to truly demonstrate, it does not matter. In short, live your life, and your morning routine as you wish and put the subject to bed.
