The Secret To BODY SPEED Nobody Has Told You About!

Спорт

The body speed in the golf swing is NOT created where you think it is...and what a LOT of golfers don't realise is that the left shoulder can be a help or hinderance in the golf swing...The left shoulder can unlock some serious body speed if you use is right, and help you square up the club face to hit much straighter shots. Yes, this is how important the left shoulder is. In this simple golf lesson Top 50 PGA coach Alex Elliott shows you how to utilise your left shoulder to get the body speed that you need in the golf swing. There are a whole load of benefits to this including, increase your club head speed with driver, increasing club head speed in golf, square you club face, rotate your body in the golf swing, hit the driver on the up, hit the driver longer, hit the driver straighter, left shoulder in the golf swing, shoulders in the golf swing and so much more!

When the left shoulder moves up and to the left so does the things attached to it, or more specifically the hands, handle/grip, and rest of the club. That could potentially lead to pulls, pull-hooks, fades, and slices (the show me the palm part might reduce the chance of the fades and slices). Ernie Els used to use the thought of separating his left shoulder from his chin, so the tip seems along those lines. However, Ernie's move of separation was more parallel to the target which would be less likely to cause the leftward path.

Something I noticed in your video, and also watching the touring pros, is that at address, the shaft angle for full shots (regardless of club) is 45 degrees. Hold the club straight up from the ball, tilt the shaft toward you, adjust your stance but keep the tilt, and swing. Hope this makes sense. 😅⛳️

I like that you said that they are a mirror image because I responded and asked another PGA top 50 teacher and he said it wasn’t the same and is it OK if I feel like when my right arm comes back that I feel like I’m skipping a rock so I can extend both arms left and right maybe that is just what I feel

I’ve been watching Alex for over a year. He’s done wonders for my game. However, I couldn’t discern what I was doing wrong with my set ups. I decided I needed a professional to help me with it. I went to 2 different pros. Each one had the same diagnosis. It was all in my head. I was tense and hyper-focused on form at set up. Once I quit thinking about my swing, I started hitting like I knew what I was doing. I’m a senior now, but I’ve played for almost 40 years. At one time, I was constantly in the low 90’s. I didn’t play as much for a few years. My average went to 120’s. What I was able to use from Alex cut 20+ strokes off my score . But I needed that one little correction. I plan to be shooting in the mid 80’s by fall. And Alex gets the credit. He’s a very good teacher!

I like the videos but I see you speak of right hand and your right arm making a swing, so is your left arm guiding your right arm? Just a question may I don’t really swing with my left arm. My left arm is always guiding me back and my right armis like skipping a rock. It helps me extend both arms. Is that wrong?

Alex. If i understand this correctly, the left shoulder is pulling you into the proper rotation of the core, hips, and right shoulder follows thru to a perfect finish. Chicken wing disappears. Correct?

Alex, on the follow through would the left arm be pinned to your side, or very close to it, all the way after impact as you come around? I keep hearing contradictory things about this. Example, keep a glove under your left armpit. Others say the left arm should be pinned to pectoral muscle. It's so confusing.

My problem is that I wear bifocal glasses which cause me to tilt my head down further than most so that I’m not looking through the bifocal part of the lenses. It seems to be a problem getting my head up after the shot and clearing my head to make a full turn.

Coach, Your pro swing is so smooth and "compact", no unnecessary movements, the big muscles work together to generate speed. It's so hard to learn. And perhaps, difficult to pass on. Any solution? 😅

It went 236 yards because, yes the technique was good, but you're young, fit and athletic. Paige Spirinac (we all know her) is a very good golfer - when she absolutely throws herself at the ball, she carries driver 220-230. Physical limitations.
