The Secret Nazi Witchcraft Project ("Unit H")

In 1935 Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler set up a secret project using a small team of 17 undercover SS agents disguised as students and sent them all over Germany and other countries. These Nazi secret agents carried fake ID’s and worked under false names.
But what was their mission? Was it to gather intelligence on enemies spying inside the Reich? Erm, no, it was not. What was it then? Well, funnily enough, it was to sneak into libraries to research witches…
ODYSSEUS FILES is a KZread channel dedicated to showcasing primarily military history content (plus certain other topics) in short documentary form, featuring interesting and quirky characters and stories from the late 19th Century on through the 1st and 2nd World Wars to the present.
It is not always possible to find 100% accurate footage to illustrate these cinematic short films, but where possible ODYSSEUS FILES strives to keep it authentic. Background music will always attempt to provide appropriate emotional mood.
Topics and content are thoroughly researched and portrayed in their historical context for both educational and entertainment purposes. We try our best to be accurate in terms of the data in our short films, but are not experts in all areas and are always learning new things, so if we get something wrong - please feel free to contact us. Also if you have an idea you believe may fit the scope of our channel - again - do not hesitate to let us know.

Thank you for presenting information that I am sure few students of the WW2 era knew. While I was aware of the National Socialists' interest in the occult, I was totally unaware of this witch obsession. Thank you for your time and effort in providing entertaining and informative videos.

Hi Josie, thanks for your comment - yes, it’s a bit of a quirky topic but interesting and surprising how much resources they put into it. We will drop a video on an English sword fighting combatives guy called Alfred Hutton from the Victorian/Edwardian period tomorrow night - hope you can catch it…
