The Secret Life of Thomas Aquinas by Dr Taylor Marshall

My goal this week is to introduce you to the "secret" life of Saint Thomas Aquinas. It’s not really a secret if you know where to look. However, Thomas Aquinas is one of the better known saints, but few people know anything about his life.

I just so love St. Thomas. I had the great fortune of being invested into the Confraternity of Angelic Warfare of St. Thomas years ago by Fr. Brian Mullady. I sobbed thru the entire ritual.

It makes good sense that St. Thomas' sexual purity would contribute to his staggering intellect. We live in an age flooded with sexual impurity, and we can see a great deal of irrational stuff being taught in college, and especially in the softer 'sciences' (which seem to be naturally wedded to modern ideologies). My favorite examples come from a class in "Medical anthropology." Also, whenever I see "Averroes" or "Averroës," I always find myself pronouncing "Ah-vehr-ROH-ess" rather than "Av-er-ROW-eez", and nobody has ever corrected me when I said it out loud.

Jesus also said to Thomas, according to what I have read, " Thomas you have spoken well of Me." " What can I give to you?" That's when Thomas said, nothing but you Lord. But, what Thomas wrote was given verbal Imprimatur by Jesus. So what he wrote might be straw to Thomas as to what Jesus revealed to him, but not straw to the non mystic.

Philosophy up until and including Saint Thomas Aquinas is of the love of God after Saint Thomas Aquinas I find it tends towards the hatred and rejection of God.
