Peter Kreeft | The Matt Fradd Show Ep. 10

In this episode of TMFS I talk to Dr. Peter Kreeft, professor of philosophy at Boston College, about his conversion to the Catholic faith, why he loves Thomas Aquinas, his thoughts about Pope Francis, Dostoevsky (obviously) and the best arguments for God and atheism ... and much else besides.

Absolutely my favorite philosopher (apologist) I love this man. What's even more fantastic, is that he has influenced my son to seek an education for the glory of Christ. My son will have his BA when he's 20. Dr. Kreeft is the motivation for that. He needs to be highlighted (guest) on every new apologist's KZread channel. And I'm a surfer too.

Dr. Kreeft is totally awesome! He came and gave a speech at our university not too long ago. We took him to BK, played chess with him (he whooped me twice in less than 5 minutes), and he told us he loved to surf. He also left his beanie with us on accident. Glad you had him on the show, keep the awesome guests/interviews coming, Matt! God Bless!

miguel O Are you suggesting that people only disliked the Gordon interview because they can’t handle the truth? I disliked it because of his snide, repeated comments about chubby women and such. I didn’t get very far into the interview for that reason alone. When you insult someone’s appearance, the strength of your actual argument is easily overlooked. I sincerely hope that he doesn’t speak or think that way regularly and that he made errors in judgment that day.

We're so indebted to Dr. Kreeft. He came and gave a talk to 5 young adults starting a group in Boston. As we learned about his reputation, we became only more embarrassed at how few people we had back then. It grew up into a rather sizable group and learned a lot about the Lord's will and ministry in the church, but we still remain embarrassed about that first meeting.

I so enjoy Dr Kreeft -- even more when I found out he at least thinks its possible that our pets end up in heaven with us. As he so eloquently puts it, "Why not?". Also, as an introvert myself who dreads small talk -- I consider it a part of Catholic charity and love of neighbor to make it as I notice it puts many at ease and it makes a small human connection if you cheerfully do it while waiting in line or with the clerk at a store. And as much as I want to hide away at parties, again, I can help others feel more comfortable if I can reach out to them and converse with them. So, as uncomfortable as I find it -- I see it as a charitable act.

Dear Matt, Just wanted to point out how funny it is that you said that the Eastern Orthodox get angry when you nail things down. I was amused and I think Jesus would have been too. Best interview ever, will be watching this multiple times. We had puppies at my college when Trump got elected too, and one of my teachers paused opening class to ask if anyone needed to talk it out, "Are you okay? Does anyone need to talk?" So being sensitive and docile, I raised my hand and said I voted for Trump. I also hung out with the puppies, because they're the very best.

This interview is so similar to the one you just recorded with him. Still good! Strangely similar

Wow Matt..I have been watching your more recent videos..with the beard! I have to say I prefer you without...you look years younger and you can see your handsome face! Also...I love Peter Kreeft! He does a great job explaining angels!
