my family home was blacklisted by them about 15 years ago basically, I answered the door buck naked and invited them in, also tried hugging them

My old neighbor loved when they came around. He would bust out his Bible and, start preaching to them FOR HOURS. They even started sending out higher officials to talk to him. Eventually they got so annoyed with him that, they started avoiding his house. So, he started waiting for them by the road. Not long after that, they quit coming to our neighborhood. lol.

All you need to do is accept that the Bible teaches a Trinity. Jesus says He created the Earth by Himself. Jehovah says He created the Earth by Himself. The Holy Spirit says He created the Earth by Himself. Jesus said that if you do not believe He is who He said He is, you will die in your sins. In that same conversation, He said He is I Am (YHWH, Jehovah) (John 8:48-59). The Jews knew exactly what He was saying, so they picked up rocks to stone Him. So, did Jesus lie? Or is He Jehovah? And if He didn't lie, then who is His Father? (Also Jehovah). And if the Holy Spirit says He did the same things the other two did by themselves, then isn't it also Jehovah? Oh, and the Holy Spirit is a person. Not an active force. You can't blaspheme a tool. But you can blaspheme God. Also, a tool doesn't make claims about itself, like the Holy Spirit does.

@@Ruliiss , You might have a point if the Quran was consistent. God doesn't make mistakes. Nothing is ever abrogated. But since a third of the Quran is abrogated, it can't be from God. How does a being that knows everything, including every second of the future, say so many things that He decided to change His mind about? Wouldn't He know that a time was coming when these things wouldn't age well? How can that God teach peace with the people of the book, and then order His followers to end every single one of the in the entire world? That the trees will cry out, oh Muslim, there is a jew behind me, come and (end) him! God is consistent. Allah is inconsistent. Therefore, Allah is not God.

I almost became jw, all my friends are JW and I wanted to be a part of it because I didn’t follow any religion specifically. When I went it felt off, I felt like I didn’t belong there so I pulled back. Fast forward a couple of years and I decided to pray for God to guide me. That same night I dreamt of the number 3:16, the number just kept repeating itself. I had no idea what it meant. Well I looked it up and ever since then I’ve been a born again Christian. Jesus is king!!! Happy Easter

Well, you had the opportunity to learn the truth, to reject pagan worship and pagan holidays and symbols and you opted to go for paganism, If you want to discuss anything that evangelicals believe regarding the Bible I am more than willing as a Christian Witness of Jehovah to show you why they are wrong.... just because witnesses don't go and make videos while secretly filming other religions so they can upload them and make fun of them, doesn't mean that they're not true, underhanded tactics by people like winger and others are detestable and they will not work in the end.

I was about 16 yr old when we were at one the their convention meetings with my parents and it hit me and I knew . I don't know how to explain it. I just knew . I think what triggered it was how they were making rules about how women were aloud to do their hair and im like uh bible doesn't say anything about that. I had nothing to do with God many years later as young adult..I was scared. Gradually the Lord kept working on me. I am now so thankful to know truth and I love Jesus so much! and my heart hurts for those being deceived and refuse to listen.

In the early 1980s a pair of JWs came to our neighborhood and tried to talk to my mother about converting to their religion. We were raised as First Assembly of God, which is a evangelical Pentecostal church, otherwise known as "holy rolers". They engaged my mom in a religious debate for over two hours, during which she successfully refuted every single argument they brought to try to prove their religion was the only true religion. Two weeks later, they started attending our church, and after six more weeks they went up during an altar call and accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. They have remained as members of our church for the last 40 years, and have led several other Jehovah's Witnesses to leave the Kingdom Hall and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The town we live in no longer has a Kingdom Hall in its city limits. My mother passed away in 1990, and in a town of 3,000, over 1,000 attended her funeral. Every business in town and the elementary, junior high, and high schools all closed to allow anyone who wanted, to attend her funeral. She babysat over 100 children during the 1980s, treating them like her own children, as well as operating her own cake and cookie decorating business out of her own home (the garage was remodeled to allow her the space to do so). She was loved by most of the people in town, and respected by all, and she lived her testimony for Christ every day.

I disagree with a LOT that they preach, but I do give them credit for their dedication. How many Christians these days actually have the courage to share God's word with a random stranger on the street? How many of us are too ashamed of Christ to share His light with our neighbors and friends? Can we then really call ourselves converted to Christ? Are we so much better when we have been given more Light, but keep that Light hidden?

​@@arcguardian. JWs who don't share the message at all are considered inactive and aren't considered actual worshippers. Elders may try and help them, but unless they have a health concern that prevents them from engaging in the preaching work, they are not giving their "whole heart" or their "whole soul", or their "whole mind" or their "whole strength" to God. If they show no signs of improving, they may be disfellowshipped. Preaching is a fundamental part of the JW religion, and the overwhelming majority of baptised JWs preach for at least a couple of hours every week, if not more.

I'm not a witness anymore but my foundation is built on some of the teachings that I learned growing up in the truth. Empathy, respect and my own not being judgemental. They have to compensate where Christians do not. Christians axtually recieve the Holy Spirit have truth inside them. He's ignored and taken for granted by many Christians but he's there. That's why Christians don't need to compensate like the Buddhist, the JW, the Muslim ect. L8syen up Christians, have closer fellowship w the holy spirit. FELLOWSHIP. That is scripture. Yeah so all these other religions are pretty much compensating that's why the action is so prevalent. Knocking door to.door ect they have no real truth so the ideal is to take the action they take in order to feel God or get close. It's a false sense. But it's the closest they can get since they reject the 1 who takes them to the true way. They reject the 1 gives them the holy spirit. Gotta know Hesus personally. Gotta accept him that means accepting his message. God didn't send his son just for ppl to make up false narratives about what really happened. God won't let that fly. Accept the truth or don't. But God made sure that the truth got to us. He never left us

They also teach that Jesus had a spiritual resurrection and not in the body. They teach two classes of salvation, one to spiritual life with Jesus and one on earth. But most importantly, they teach that Jesus was a preexistent archangel, and not God.

I was a witness for years, and I'm not being disrespectful, but this isn't true. This is not what they teach in kingdom halls or in the watchtower. Maybe they did in the past, but they do not teach this now. To witnesses, Satan is the ruler of this world now, and when Jesus comes back, he will take his place as the true ruler of this world after the rapture, but no one knows the time or date.

All we do is try to reason with others and try to show them the scriptures. I would not want to judge anyone because we are all imperfect, and if we judge people, we might turn them away forever from believing the bible. We only try to teach. There are always bad actors in every group of people. It's the nature of imperfect people. Glad you have a solid understanding of what we believe and I'm glad that you stand up for us not being an insane cult. Nice to meet you sir!

I certainly agree with you both that we shouldn’t be judging and tearing down anyone. But I disagree that we should just let everyone believe what they want and hope one is right. There is one truth and one way and one has to base everything off Gods Word. We are not to bash other religions or beliefs but the Bible clearly tells us that we are to point out false teachers and mark them so that others don’t become deceived. And I would say there is such a thing as guilt by association. If your watchtower doesn’t teach what the other ones do then why be a JW? Everyone is going to assume you’re just like all the others because those are foundational beliefs of Jehovahs Witness and they clearly contradict Scripture

My baptized family members do go out to field service and speak to any willing to have the conversation to point out the " false teachings". it seems like you took my statement of "letting people believe what they want" very literally. I say that to point out how all religions are founded in faith,Puree belief and based on those beliefs we decide how to live our lives all based arounf that faith, somethingthat can have very littleto no physical evidence but makes sense to you so you choose to believe it. What is true to someone else could be the most false thing possible to you. Doesn’t mean it's right or wrong. My statement is not a reflection of the religion as again I am not a baptized witness. That is my belief

The average Christian parishioner is ill equipped for biblical conversation with a JW. That’s the hard truth. They role play every scripture you will automatically go through. The resurrected body of Jesus and doubting Thomas. Those are indisputable proofs of the physical resurrection of Christ and will be your best friend. Study up brothers and sisters, I can promise you they are.

"Jesus" means "Jehovah is salvation". This is the name of Christ real christians are hated for. "HalleluJah" means "Praze Jah" (Jehovah). Psalm 83: 18: "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth."

People should just explain their beliefs plainly, without hiding things like this. They want to butter you up beforehand

I agree, if you use JW resources as a layman looking for a church, or speak to a JW, they do not mention this stuff at all. And it's tricky because many of the other unique aspects of their church are quite appealing.

​​@@rebn8346. Yes, they don't mention this stuff because we don't believe it. We don't believe that Jesus' rule on Earth or his second coming happened in 1914. We believe he began ruling in heaven, and that soon (i.e., anytime this century) his second coming will happen in which the wicked will be destroyed and Satan banished for 1000 years and then Jesus' rule on Earth will begin. This will not be in a secret room and everyone will see it, as Mike correctly shows from the Bible. Mike Winger is a very good apologist, but it seems strange that he is misquoting our beliefs.

I agree but do you know how they shun those that leave the church which is about 70K per year and thousands are excommunication and shunned if they don't line up to the JW standards ? Do you think that is treating people like they are human beings ? Maybe you should research on utube about former witnesses who have lost their families through leaving the organization. ​​​@@robertzakaria8526. We believe Jesus began ruling in heaven in 1914 after banishing Satan. This is due to the prophecy in Daniel 4 of the seven times. We believe God's Kingdom stopped ruling in 607 B.C. when the last King of Judah was killed and Babylon invaded Jerusalem (Jews prophesied to be in captivity for 70 years, released by King Cyrus in 537 B.C.). We apply God's Kingdom to be the tree, so this is equivalent when the tree got cut down. Then seven times passed over. Now, thanks to Revelation 14 we know 3.5 times is 1260 days. Therefore 7 times is 2520 days. If we apply the day for a year idea that is very much used in the Bible, and count 2520 years from 607 B.C., we get to 1914 A.D.. Now after the seven times the tree is restored. So God's Kingdom starts to rule again. Therefore the prophecy in Revelation 12 about Christ ruling as King in heaven and throwing down Satan to the earth is applied. Note: the idea that 3.5 times is 1260 days is an idea established before our religion, and so is the idea of a day for a year for Bible prophecy. Sir Isaac Newton applied it to a different prophecy in Daniel, and counted 1260 years from 800 A.D, when he thought the apostate church began, to get his date of 2060 A.D.. The only thing that is unique to our religion is applying it to the prophecy in Daniel 4. I'm not trying to convince you of anything, just giving you some more knowledge so you know more about what we actually believe and why.

I've studied with a few Witnesses and I have been to one or two Kingdom halls, I never, ever heard this.

@@jaredpetersmith914 The basic teachings of God, Jesus, Trinity, Hell and the soul are correct. They got lost when they tried to interpret prophecy. 2 Thes 2:11 says that God allows a deluding influence so that people will believe a lie. God will clean house soon enough.

Forty-two years and I've never heard them once claim Jesus came back and is living a the HQ in the attic. Phaseout? How long does phasing out teachings last? I have never heard my grandmother say anything so ridiculous. She's always told me Jesus rules as a king in heaven and Satan is the ruler on earth controlling all govs.

So at this point the end is right upon us. But i definitely do not judge you for not believing it at all. So many others dont believe it at all. This is not true at all. I grew up Jehovah Witness. They believe that Jesus is coming to bring Armageddon and save 144,000 anointed souls for heaven, the rest of the wicked will die during the process of the heavenly war. Then Jehovah will create a new paradise on earth for all who believe faithfully in Christs teachings, repent for their sins, and claim Jesus as their savior to then spread the good news. They believe in doing as the Bible says and remaining separate from the world for the most part in order to avoid Satans tricks. Which is probably why they’re misunderstood. The main difference between them and other Christian religions is they believe God will create a paradise on earth for the faithful after Armageddon and that Jesus Christ was Jehovah’s son. They also believe all holiday’s are pagan rituals, historically they all basically are, which is why they don’t celebrate any of them.

They actually have a documentary about how they got started ...and it basically comes down to this MAN/ minister DECIDED that there was no heaven or hell and formed a group to do BIBLE STUDIES to dispute the Bible. I was watching this documentary and saw the BRAINWASHING and things changed with their organization over the years. It's really sad that EVERYONE wants to BELONG to something, BELIEVE in something, and will do whatever it takes to RULE over something/someone!!!

At the exact moment, the sky opened up and all the heavenly angels decended with swords drawn one for every human on earth. the more and more I read the Bible the more and more I realize how much it literally discredits and warns about false religions. I find it so amazing that god literally gave us warnings plain as day like Galatians 1:8 where it says even if an angel comes to you preaching a different gospel, let him be accursed. (this literally warns about and discredits both Islam and Mormonism because both Muhammad and Joseph Smith claimed that they received revelations from different angels. )Plus this as well I am so grateful the god literally warned us 100's of years in advanced before the religions even started.

For some background, im 17 and was raised in a JW home, I understand the bumpy and weird history but like any christian, god is our savior and jesus died for our sins. I understand that it isnt the cleanest thing but like any other organization, no one is perfect but it gives me hope by knowing that god loves me. Feel free to ask anything again :D Note: all my life i have only attended sunday sermons and the yearly assembly.

Here it is friend and brother:) we are all of us Christ Followers:) Only Jesus can see whether a brother or sister is a "true" follower. Until he says otherwise it is our job as God's people to extend our hand to everyone. But more so to all our already fellow brothers in Faith. None of this demonizing your fellow Church attending neighbors. Jehovah witness organization tells you to reflect using the bible. So do it. One time choose to trust Jehovah and his power and pray in Jesus name to show you the truth sincerely and begin to Read your bible. When you misunderstand something you read, tell God and then just keep reading. Don't reach for a watchtower dont reach for a separate book. Trust God to pass you his understanding in time and you will see. And you will feel the truth come over you. Have your one on one. But quit bringing in outside influence. No one explains Gods word better than God. And all of it falls into place in time. Its ok to be scared. Tell God about it but continue. If you do this my brother. You will see not that you were wrong and we were right. But instead you will see God and you will meet Christ and forever more you will never need to rely on a men led Organization to tell you when Christ arrives. That is how truth sets you free. The way our usual congregation goes is the Bible study about a theme say being humble. Well read into ways to be humble. The the watchtower is a story from the Bible that teaches lessons. At the beginning and end of the day we sing hymns to the lord and pray for our wonderful life. I'm glad to have cleared anything and thank you for your advice and prayer as well. You don’t see a greater issue here that the JW had to change their lore because in 1914 they claimed the end times were coming and then the Earth kept turning as usual for another hundred years. JW aren’t exactly known for their stunning wit, but even they got suspicious. Talk about disingenuous 😂

Also ultimately when Jesus was crucified he ascended to Heaven and the Holy Spirit was given unto men and Jesus said in Luke 17:20 the kingdom is within you. Basically God's kingdom isn't some particular place or special spot around the world. It's within every human that acknowledges Him until the full time

Maybe there is this one really old Highlander style immortal who has parked himself on some ancient holy ground and his long time refusal to budge is starting to really irritate Jesus. Who in growing impatient to head to Earth and see what modern medicine can you for a couple of nasty hand and ankle he has been running around with for far too long. Or a Vampire, a guy got turned into a vampire who has managed to survive this long. The reason they fear crosses is because Jesus got tired of waiting around (possibly due to hand wounds) and put a hit out on him. The hunters took it as a general extermination order so now all vampires get horrific flashback to terrifying escapes and painful near deaths at the hands of these holy crusaders and GTFO whenever they see a cross. Maybe Jesus recalls how much it frikkin hurt to get crucified and and all the hassle he had to put up with leading a bunch of ill prepared, demanding, paranoid and generally irritating people around when all he was trying to do was tell them not to be such jerks to each other. An idea that to his mind wouldn't be that controversial. So after all that he looks his still hurting hands and realizes that pain from limbs you don't have applies even if you lack an entire body and decides "You know what? Screw those guys, I'm outta here." There seems to be every bit as much evidence for either of these and their is for this guy even existing in the first place, much less being this tardy in returning. Maybe I should start a religion.

They came to my house once and we politely told them we weren't interested. I watched them from the living room window as they were walking back to their car and my mom said to me, "Those people are not following God, they follow something evil," and right after she said that, the little old lady that was with them stopped walking and turned and looked right at me in the window. I immediately felt sick at my stomach and got goosebumps all over. I'll never forget that as long as I live. 😅

What’s evil about them?

I had JWs constantly knocking on my door and I just would just throw The Book at them. One day about 6 or 7 men knocked on my door. Refuted everything they said with the real Word. Never heard from them again and in fact they don’t come around my neighborhood either.

6 or 7 men knocked on your door? Unlikely. I was raised JW. Members had a pioneer tract card to fill out weekly with hours spent preaching the gospel, and would go door-to-door in different neighborhoods to 1. get to as many homes as possible, and 2. increase the likelihood you'd actually get someone to talk or engage about the Bible. The most I've seen in a group was 3 people - two people are the typical number, and they might bring a 3rd if that person is learning how to do field service. If a brother/sister is already at a house, others aren't going to dogpile on it because they cannot claim hours for ministry preaching out of the same home. Sorry, but my family are all JW, grandfather was an elder, and I find this completely unreasonable and unrealistic. If someone turns away a visit, they typically don't come back - at all, unless you invited them to debate, at which point they might just bring an elder or two. That's it.

My mom is a Jehovah witness. I am m a follower of Jesus. Jehovah among other names is our Heavenly fathers name. as long as we have accepted Jesus in our hearts then we will be saved.

Before WWI the watchtower said it was OK for JW to fight in the war... but after WWI and before WWII JW's decided that they should NOT fight in wars... Is a JW that fought and died in WWI "saved" (they don't believe in hell) even though they died believing incorrectly? They will say YES, because the were believing the truth as best they could... even though it was incorrect... Response: EXACTLY!! You just described EVERY denomination! No one knows the truth perfectly... No one is going to be told... "Your theology was perfect... You had it all figured out!!"

Jesus makes this distinction himself, parasouia vs erchomai, in Matthew 24 and Luke 17. Paraousia being a period of time, Jesus refers to the days of Lot and the days of Noah vs an event or one day, e.g. the day Noah entered the ark, the day the flood arrived, the day is rained fire.

He says as clear as the sun is in the sky I will be here. Jehovah’s Witness says shhhh it’s a secret. God is good.

That is not the case however, I am certain that the Bible does say, Jesus has arrival will be a clear arrival. I used to study with JW for a while but I never found much substance there. Id have all these deep questions which they would write down and try to answer but gave me the same old answers from scripture each time. At this point I didn't realise how different their bible and teachings were and didn't know they think Jesus has returned. They were all very kind and perhaps part of my path.

That's inaccurate. You're either confused or disingenuous. 1914 Jesus kicked Satan out of Heaven and God crowned Jesus the ruler of Heaven. Not ruling a secret "watchtower". You know that's just the name of their magazine, right? Try working on your researching skills buddy. This information is readily available. There's nothing "secret" about it.

The watchtower is a magazine put out from 8 men in the watchtower in NY. They wrote themselves in as the authority on the Bible. JW change their "bible" often.

He's right because their governing body have set themselves as equals to jesus in practice. If you don't comply with their changes and doctrine, you aren't considered a witness, therefore your salvation is lost. They in practice do not differentiate between jesus and the gb. Just ask a witness what would happen if a believer publicly and persistently spoke out against a gb teaching. If they don't sugar coat, you'll see the truth of where they really believe their salvation comes from. If you still wonder, ask them who they would side with if governing body doctrine conflicts with the bible like the beard doctrine before it changed.

That’s amazing i never knew about that verse thank you! also i’ve been worshipping Christ for quite sometime now and i’m only 20yrs old, but i really wanted to dove deeper and see how narrow the narrow road actually is. And i suggest that y’all look into Preston Ebey’s teachings. It dives deeper and it is mind blowing. I will say this tho to challenge my fellow christian’s. Find me one verse that talks about Christ’s second coming. And not where it says “his coming” but where it says “his second coming”. A good question to JW is how can you trust the NWT when you dont know who did the translation. Thier answer, by *blind faith or some research bit keep pushing it becomes faith. One wanted to trap me and said, do you trust the bible full stop. I said yes if i know who translated it and research on them. Also, why is Jesus not God, i am still waiting for response

Jesus is not God, neither God is Jesus. Maybe if you can explain this to me, then I will consider listening to you after answering some other questions. Is it possible for you to the father of yourself, mother of yourself and son of yourself?? When Jesus Christ said that "the massage he is preaching is not og his, but that of his father in heaven, who was he referring to?? When he went to the mountain, he prayed " God if it's by your mercy, let this burden pass over him, then he letter said, let your will be done", who was he referring to?? No He didn't. He said some of the disciples would live to see the Son of Man coming in His Kingdom. John saw these things before he died and wrote them down as the book of Revelation. Also, it is believed by many to be the founding of the church as the body of Christ and the Kingdom of God going out freely into the world after the destruction of the temple in 70AD. Edit: a real key to this is Jesus' phrasing. He says "won't see death UNTIL" which implies that the disciples will see death still. This shows Jesus is not implying His final return where death is taken away but either a revelation of His return or something other.
