A tea light generates just 30 W of heat. To heat a car appreciably, however, you need 500 to 1000 W. Moreover, this design is very dangerous, because the candle can easily fall out and set fire to the car.

30 watts 500 watts.. look at you.. in truck driving school we were taught this method would /could save your life.. gonna argue watts? You people always side with the majority of dumb nuts.. it's not for comfort.. it could keep you just above freezing to death.. you= "I wouldn't want that,doesn't keep me warm enough." Keep some ziplock gallon bags in your car also. That way no need to go outside for bladder or bowel relief.. gonna argue that too? Wouldn't want to be relying on you for survival techniques..

This is an EXCELLENT Camp Light / Camp Stove / Camp Heater Backpack Ready article !!!This item is PRICELESS ! It can do a great job if your power goes out, or if you're camping, or to keep in your glove compartment in case you get broke down and have to stay in your car when it's cold! This is a great idea. Destrozar un filtro de aceite, utilizar hasta machos de roscar. Usar el taladro para agujerear el cuerpo del filtro sin sujeción con el consiguiente peligro... todo para hacer un sujetavelas que cuesta 1euro.

While this looks great, if you were to flatten the top of the filter can, you could also use it to cook on. The domed top would make it hard to keep and pan on it from tipping off. Just an idea... Thumbs Up!

Nice idea. Improvement might be to reduce legs to three equally spaced bolts. Just as stable but simpler. Also creat a small grid above the flame to hold a small camping pot and see if can be adequate for cooking. Then it'd be really worthwhile as a cheap, easy to pack and carry emergency cooking stove. Even being able to boil a liter of water in a reasonable amount of time would make it handy as hell.
