I was born in 1960 and I'm totally engrossed in this book. Stories I've heard from this era that have been shot down as conspiratorial are now being vindicated. Feels good to know I'm not a total whack job for actually believing they may be true.. Thank you Tom O'Neill for your persistence, attention to detail, and like your publisher said, "finding the angle to get as close to the truth as one possibly can get. It's incredibly mind-bending to read about the vile things individuals are capable of when given too much power. Last, but not least, thank you Joe Rogan for the excellent job you do with your show - you're definitely one of my favorites!

What's additionally trippy was when I was searching a database for completely unrelated topics and I noticed that one of the co-authors of the paper I was reading was Dr. L. Jollyon West. So that sent me down the rabbit hole and I looked up all of his papers, most of which are downloadable for free (annas-archive, BTW, is where I was searching this stuff).

If joe plays dumb the guest will feel comfortable with knowing that they are more knowledgeable then joe and possibly get the guest say more then they should. I’ve noticed that when joe goes to call someone out on bullshit, the guest will be the lead of the conversation and joe will steer the conversation where he wants it to go. MKUltra isn't your typical psyop or entrapment scheme, as I see many people referencing in the comments. The goal was targeted assassinations carried out by programmed assassins who would then conveniently develop amnesia, blacking out the programming and assassination. Methods for doing this involved psychoactives and psychedelics, and also hypnotism. Operation Monarch was/is a similar program. The hypnotist Derren Brown demonstrated how it was possible to hypnotize someone into becoming an assassin in one of his episodes titled 'The Assassin'. Additionally, records from these secret programs that recorded the most extreme mind control techniques were the first to be destroyed. Consider Dissociative Identity Disorder, commonly known as Multiple Personality Disorder. By subjecting a person, especially at a young age, to extreme mental and physical abuse, you could shatter a person's mind into several alternate personalities. Typically, one of these personalities will be cooperative with the abuser, and as such is extremely susceptible to being programmed by the abuser. If the abuser is well trained in mind control techniques and hypnosis, then it would be very easy to mold an alternate personality into an elusively dormant assassin. Pyops, baiting, manipulation - these are all scary enough. But to truly capture, control, and own the mind of another human being - that is a nightmarish evil straight from hell. And the more you learn about the authors of such evil (Hoover, Dulles, etc.), the more demonic they seem. If anyone needs more convincing that there is no evil US intelligence isn't capable of, just look up the massacre of My Lai, and the CIA operation responsible for it, Operation Phoenix. If you weren't red-pilled, you are now.

Psychic forcing is what they used on a lot of kids including me which caused massive disassociation, trauma and mind control. They were desperate for power and didnt care who they destroyed in their quest to get it including innocent and defenseless children. This was the same strategy used by Hitler and his scientists was to find as many ways possible in this world and the next to control people. With the CIA and intelligence agencies in Australia, Canada and Great Britain taking in these scientists and continuing the same experiments so they could all compare notes and advance their knowledge. This is also the same strategy of ritual satanic cults and as such the cults and the intelligence agencies from my experience become one. Even though I was very good at disassociation as a child the repeated electrocution, the intentional neglect by my family to destroy my self esteem and the repulsive sexual abuse only made me more stubborn. So by the age of 12 I was a liability and then my parents were programmed to get rid of me which they tried numerous times unsuccessfully to do. I am still unraveling my life and recovering my memories but the evil these sadistic inhumane animals do to others they should all be locked up and the key thrown away.

Honestly, I don't think MK Ultra stopped. I think it evolved. I think with the advent of social media, they started using that to radicalize people. Take the past few mass shooters we've had. Young men, mentally ill, all of them had weapons they typically couldn't afford, all of them known by government agencies yet nothing was done for 3 out of 4. What's interesting is I know specifically the shopping center shooter was in a private discord, where it came out he was around a bunch of people talking him up to doing what he did. It's actually simple. Take a troubled person, surround them with "friends" and likeminded people, create an echo chamber where they boost the persons ego, start ramping things up slowly with extremist acts to where herd mentality kicks in, and eventually you have yourself a person willing to go commit unspeakable acts. The government didn't get rid of MK Ultra because it was "immoral", they got rid of it because it had a detrimental flaw. Uncontrollability. As this stated, you run a risk of a person snapping at the wrong time and killing an innocent bystander which wouldn't further anything you're trying to get done. But, radicalize and guide someone into a thought process, there's no longer that issue. They don't kill because they're forced to, they do it because they want to. It's terrifying to me that people blindly believe the government when they've been known to do horrible things like this. There's even been admissions of them trying to radicalize people like I described. Things are fucked man.

I'm from Sydney Australia. CIA operative Martin Orne came here in 1960 and worked with Sydney University and associated networks. A number of the psychology students there became involved and one of them Peter Sheehan went back with Orne to the USA and the University of Pennsylvania. Sheehan became an expert in hypnosis and did many studies on mind control and then took many influential positions here. Around the time of Ornes visit the hospital where I was born (St George Hospital in Kogarah) had the board removed and replaced, new schools, groups etc all of a sudden sprang up. I remember being horrifically experimented on as a child and by the age of 5 could turn off pain, see and communicate with spirits etc. Both my parents are typical MKUltra personalities - murderous, evil etc and have committed numerous serious crimes. I have gone to the authorities here and they refuse to do anything about it. The experiments never stopped they would just relocate them.

My dad was an Mk ultra test subject. He was enlisted during the Korean conflict. He escaped from a Texas institution that worked with the Mk ultra programs. It was my understanding that the origin of Mk ultra was born out of concern of work the Russians and Chinese were doing on their own people and prisoners of war, to pull information out of a test subject, to gain top secret information through various uses of torture including drugs, stimulants, sedatives , electric shock therapy etc. so the US rationalized the need for separating a person from their mind and their willpower to see what information they would give up under these circumstances. The US long ago crossed a moral bridge where it was ok to sacrifice a thousand innocent lives if it saved 100,000 lives in the long run.

My opinion as a young psychologist is that the MK Ultra program triggers a defense mechanism in the brain similar to the movie 'Split', where when the brain and the 'ego' or 'self' are put under extreme suffering/stress, compartmentalized identities develop based on trauma. Consciousness and self-awareness becomes fragmentated, resulting in the exact opposite of a succesful psychoterapeutic threatment where the aim is to integrate all seemingly disonant aspects of personality as an armonic whole.

Such theories have always seemed to me as intriguing as they are immeasurably speculative. In the study of these reactions, at most for 150 years, we are better at describing them than in any real way explaining them, yet many speak of them as if they are in some way known "quantities." That said, there are curious, engaging, similarities between the anomie of Sirhan and his mental and emotional status during and after the RFK murder, and who had also "happened" all over us, just 14 months before the Tate killings, and the bizarre, often totally nonsensical state of mind of all the killers. Just at first blush, one notes how all the perps seemed psychologically remote after the crimes, saying the whackiest things about their misdeeds, as though they made any sense. Susan Atkins saying Tate's blood tasted "nice" and Sirhan writing all manner of disconnected comments in his "diary." It was not hard to guess "Manchurian Candidate" for each and all of them: MKUltra, LSD, and all the rest We should be shocked that those crimes have not yet been connected, that I've ever seen, and also the Nicole Simpson gore in '94. Same weapon nearly as the Tate buck knives?! There are many many many striking similarities between all of them. AND: they all took place within a mere 10 or 15 minutes drive from each other; quite a coincidence for all 3+ events, as being some of the most globally known media frenzies of the century. All just down the street a handful of miles from each other.

kaleel clark I understand your point, and your right, it just blows my mind that such things can be held somewhat of a secret for so long. The documentary “state of mind the psychology of control” explains how though. The funny thing is, they aren’t actually in control the way most think they are, they can just influence people to think that. The critical thinking people have the power, they want “sheep”. They want us to fight amongst ourselves because they know ultimately the people have the power for now at least, until they can gain a stronger grip. If it’s not already too late.

My Uncle Allen Weisenmuller was locked up in Leavenworth for protesting the Vietnam War in a US Navy uniform in 67'. I just found out from my sisters who hide secrets from me, that Allen was part of the MK Ultra experiment. When my uncle Allen was locked up, they had a military court. The lawyers argued that my uncle Allen got the drugs on the military base. They argued he wasn't in his right mind when he was protesting and he got an honorable discharge from the US Navy. What really happened was they turned my Uncle Allen on to LSD and he became friends with all the hippies on Height-Ashbury. He came out and was against the war and was talking to all the men coming home from Vietnam. Allen had all the information. He was in the US Navy and he was at the research center on Height-Ashbury. It was right on that street. My uncle was very good friends with the Grateful Dead, David Crosby and Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. He spent the rest of his life in Eugene, Oregon smoking pot and being a hippy. He died in 2019 and his daughter Hilary contacted me from the gravesite online. We didn't know he had a child. She's so nice and looks like my mother. I have a new 1st cousin. They got together in 72'. Allen wasn't right in his mind. The experiments transformed him. And his drug use got acute at one point seeking out to detoxify on a commune. MK Ultra did experiments, but I think he fried his brain all on his own. Whatever he did it fried Allen's skull in the same way as Brian Wilson had. They both had that stunned look in their face. Who knows what the Navy did to him. That is serios stuff to inject LSD. Nobody does that. I took some strong blotter acid once and the ceiling in the room looked like when your underwater and you look up at the sky. I cannot imagine what it was like to inject LSD. I would never do a thing like that and I am not afraid of using drugs. My Uncle Allen was a casualty of the Vietnam War. RIP Allen Weisenmuller 1.21.19.

The dude that had the best LSD in my dorm swore to us he got it for free and never charged us for it (which I honestly believe because what kid of drug dealer gives out free LSD and acid constantly? And no, it's not hearsay. I was one of the dudes getting free acid from him every couple days and this went on for the last 2 years of college). Right after college he was in the CIAs applicant process and according to his social media is a "retired field officer for the CIA" LOL this all happened in the late 90s.

Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, also went under early stage MK Ultra testing when he got admitted to Harvard, full ride scholarship at 16 years old. He was selected by the head of the psychology dept who was secretly working with the CIA on this project. For multiple years, he met with Kazinsky repeatedly letting Ted talk about all his inner thoughts and ideologies. The “professor” was so welcoming and developed such a great rapport with Kazinsky, this young 16 yr old, only to then bring in a group of “men in suits”… he then proceeds to strap Ted into basically an electric chair with probes attached to it to sense his brain and heart waves and god knows what else. He reads and the entire group of men laugh at every single idea and thought that Ted had ever confided with this professor in. He kept up with the “experiment” without realizing it was an experiment, and the goal was to see how truly easy it would be to break the ideal core philosophy of a person’s psyche. This doctor/professor was always so highly regarded but to do that shit at Harvard University to a minor nonetheless, well then you end up with someone like the Unabomber. Who refused to be “broken” so he targeted the places where he felt his innermost thoughts had been scoffed at the most, specifically universities, advancements in tech and how it will ruin the future… Ted had it right in alot of ways… Education and free thinking is important, but the further and further technology advances, slowly we become programmed by it… constantly looking at our smart phones, video games, twitch streams, Alexa’s and security cameras getting hacked by strangers, AI - god what a nightmare that’s gonna be one day.

This one they showed had a dude chained up to the wall with his arms restrained being his back I think, well anyway, he was in a small room able to move a little but couldnt use his hands or go anywhere other than this room. They had Barney "I love you, you love me" on repeat over and over and over. Within hours the dude was smashing his head off the wall.......

In the wake of these mass shootings in US, it makes me wonder if some kind of modern MK Ultra was used with these killers. What would possess a person to walk into a grocery and kill 10 unarmed strangers? Or 19 innocent children.? How is that heroic or brave, further your team or better your life? Why not go after an enemy you know? It's pure cowardice. And pure hatred for the world, that most humans, including me will never understand... And while it does and can unite the country in shock and grief for a moment. These days it ultimate further politically divides the country in some predictable ways. And it almost feels that some, at home and abroad, revel in this divide... echoes of mk ultra...

Wow. This is an incredible piece and bravo to you for taking the time to share your perspective on this topic. Honestly, this was powerful. I have been trying to put together what it took me a total of sixty seconds to read in your theory. For two years I feel like I have been herded and corralled into submission by a group that just doesn’t have my best interests in mind and I can feel it. I try to explain to some people -some I could confidently tell you or anyone else were my absolute best friends, and they would all tell me I am/was tripping or I needed to get back on my meds. It started out with me being followed. I would sometimes see the same people, hundreds of miles from where I was confident I had seen them before. Then I began having problems with my car -the year was around 2021 and my car was a brand new Toyota Tacoma TRD-OffRoad. (so it was pretty high quality for Toyota) my alarm wasn’t going off but I could clearly hear my car chirp and I would go out to my car door open (and I have video documentation to cooberate my claim) so I would pull my camera out and begin recording. I’d lock my car doors after checking to ensure all windows were secure and nothing was blocking the doors from securing. Then I’d shut the doors and engage the alarm and discretely videotape myself and my treck back in my house, with the light on and a few minutes later, -with my key-fob laying within plain sight of the recording, you can hear the alarm chirp and my phone buzzing. I pick it up and (all the while not having moved the phone or video away from my hands or clear view of my immediate surroundings) show the notification that my TOYOTA-CARE has detected my driver side door open and it was alerting suspicious activity. I get up and go back to my car and check and yep! Open!! It progressively got worse with each passing day. My tires were getting cut. My front end was getting loose and driving it felt more like a death sentence than a means of transportation. One day my father and I had had a serious argument about something I can’t recall now to save my life and I was setting up late and my sister was setting with me trying to console me (or at least I want to believe that was her intention at the time) and we were in a room that had a tin roof. We were talking and out of nowhere, you can clearly most certainly hear what appears to be a grown 160-200+lbs adult walk slowly, but noticeably -like they were wanting us to hear them, across a span of about 3-3-1/2 yards, in a direct straight line just above the walls of the house. I instantly felt the blood inside my body grow colder. I lock eyes with my sister and she was holding her breath and I could see she was horrified. I shushed her with my own finger to my lips and mouthed to her it could be someone who was trying to break in or something like that. I grabbed my 21 ounce framing hammer and a big knife and began to slice the pie (army lango for watching all corners as I cleared out each room or so on) and tiptoed as stealthy as possible given the age of the structure my father and sister still call home. I first told my sister to run around and watch the only other side of the house that was open to get to. I ran around and blocked the other side of the house. Now I thought, I have you. I hear talking and metal against softer metal and realize that my father has an older 12 rung ladder just in the back. I think my position is now compromised and try to improvise with my original intent. Now I’m worried about my sister because she’s about 21 yards away from the ladder and where I thought I heard that noise. When I cut the corner, she was nowhere close to her post I had given her. (On a further note, she and I had talked about my feelings of betrayal and feeling alone and she had asked me what she could do to prove she was always there for me and she was not in on my torture and gang stalking etcetera… I told her my plans for when I thought people were sneaking around my place, and told her where to be and what to do until I got my proof) this dumbfounded me! The ladder on inspection was moved. You could see where it used to be on the ground and that it had been replaced by the same place where we originally heard the first footsteps. Once, (and this is my last story) I had these little string like things or these invisible flea bug-like things that you can feel land on you -mostly the lips, nose, eyes and eyebrows, and you couldn’t really see them. Not straight on like if you were trying to look directly at it but you could see it just within your eye-registration peripheral vision. I have seen things move around with no explanation. I have documented upon documented evidence and still no single person in my “circle” has ever said that they seen it too. My sister writes off her own account that I just gave you to her being drunk just a few hours before it all happened and that I had been up for a while and we all were just stressed. I mention that I have been considering suicide to my ”friends and relatives” and I watch how they feed for information about how I would and what I would do or use. I wake up in the middle of the night and set up and say out loud that I’m thinking of doing something very similar to what you discussed and within seconds I get a notification from a “friend” and they’re saying it’s really important for me to call them or my phone is ringing because they are calling me. I answer and they are so happy and really having a great night and ohh what’s wrong with you?! I sound very depressed and angry. Am I angry? They say I should let it out and find a new hobby. Like target shooting or something. Point is, I have been trying to figure it all out and I never could understand why people don’t add up around me. I used to consider them my truest ally’s. Now I understand

Art Bell interviewed actual MKUltra scientists in the 1990s. I remember one man not only describing what it was, how it was used, but the science behind it. Bell and this scientist were as interested in the science of it, the means of transmitting "voices" into the heads of specific people urging them to kill, etc, as they were with it's application: maybe that's why he got away with broadcasting, at least until the mid '90s, anyway Bell was always extremely well informed himself, could throw impromptu questions easily during the interview on any aspect of the subject.

@irascribblejustice It was definitely in the 1990s and I'd say between 90 and 95. I can't remember his name, sorry (Art had so many guests) but I do remember that he spoke a great deal about radio waves. I myself have no interest in the science of it past their making a credible case, but I do know that at some point the patents were public. I don't know if this is still the case. I also remember that I heard reruns around 6 years ago (?) of the same interview I believe on that station through heart radio that play nothing but Art Bell 24 7. At that time I looked it up, mkultra that is, and * all * of it was on Wikipedia: I was pretty surprised. But I checked again around 2 years back and the information was no longer linked under the "Mkultra" title, that is, they had other description under that title, weak references to "CIA research" and "Canada"(since experimentation was conducted there too) at that was it, none of the in riminating stuff mentioned. But I kept looking and * did * find it under a different descriptor, something like 'mind control', can't remember exactly what. But it describes the ability to isolate a frequency and broadcast directly into a person's brain. The patent for the technology was also referenced. So i think immediately of he first mass shooting in Austin Texas in the 1960s, the young man who had gone to psychologist at the university, afraid, because he kept hearing "voices in my head" that told him to k!ll... Which is what all the ones in the last 15 years have said, of course...the ones that lived.

The Wizard of Oz is an allegorical movie that's been used for mind control. Dorothy has to go to the Emerald City to see the "Wizard." She's accompanied by the tinman, scarecrow, and cowardly lion. Each, respectively, symbolize heart, brain, and courage. They would tell people that they have "no brain," and make them chant "If I only had a brain." So eventually you'd think that you can't (or shouldn't) think for yourself because you're just idiot. So you need the "Wizard" or "Master" to tell you what to do. So the yellow brick road symbolizes the path your "Masters" want you to follow, and the "Wizard" is your master that gives you your orders (because you have "no brain.")

John Lennon's shooter possessed a book called "A Catcher in the Rye" His assassin Mark David Chapman stood on the corner calmly waiting for the police and reading this publication. Almost 20 years to the day another assassin Nathan Gail shoots and ends the life of Darell Lance Abbott AKA: Dimebag Darrell. Abbott's shooter only owned 2 books one of those being "A Catcher in the Rye" A Catcher in the Rye is a known MK-ULTRA trigger book.... Two very well known musicians and rebel types, known anti conformists, anti Government. Both avid cannabis users and outspoken anti religion rockstars. What are the odds?!?!......
